Also, look at this...

The uniform shown the article, is very similar to that of the characters Doom, Wrack and Phobos an QIIIA. (Doom was created ten years ago!)

No, you missed the point. It shows the improvements being made in military uniforms and also the brilliance of the game programmers (in a way that's similar to sci fi authors like roddenbery).

I think you can thank us canadains for the U.S marines new marpats camo pattern B.D.Us Do a check cause this is the new camo of today at least until a predator type cammo system is developed.
