Look Sorcha is always full of it - no offense

However you can bet your bottom dollar that as soon as a document was released that suggested that returning Iraq veterans may be potential terrorists
that the Pentagon had a plan to combat the beast they would no doubt awaken. That document additionally implicated roughly 60% of the nations inhabitants as potential terrorists and they knew it would not be well recieved and it was not. I don't give anything to Sorcha but the material in my opinion is not far fetched at all.

Spoken from the inside, there are no preparations for civil war within the US Military. The troop increase is I hope to ease the burdens of us already in. We are extremely undermanned for the expectations of the leaders. They have been running more and more civilians through. I hope that will quit and we can get some more soldiers to do the jobs soldiers are supposed to do. Thanks for the link though. I hope the people of this nation could stand together and unite for something greater than the latest trends, but I think our society is too far gone for full on Civil War.

IMHO, unless Western governments actually do something to make this "recovery" (haha) a job based one, then I do actually forcee trouble brewing by the end of winter..

I started a thread in global meltdown forum about the damage caused by mass under employment, which has been the root cause of a couple of rebellions in the UK, most notably the Swing riots of 1830 where most of the Rural South East England went into open rebellion.

Mass under employment is a soul destroying and emotionally crushing expereince as people cling to their lives they knew while they hope their lives will improve soon, at the same time being in denial that each day they are getting further into debt.

From my expereince people are falling into 3 catagories..
the unemployed
(who see their former collegues taking on their workloads)
the employed
(more apt is over employed/under paid as they take on excess workloads)
and the twilight world of the under employed
(that are slowly drowning and will only last as long as their savings and whatever credit they can get holds out)

This winter is about survival for all three groups, and if previous rebellions based on mass under employment are anything to go by, in the Spring people will be saying to themselves one simple thing.. "I don't want to go through another winter like this" winters are miserable and depressing at the best of times for most people and it's at that point they will do something about the situation they are in.

So as silly as the article is, I think if I was in the government I would be preparing for trouble that will start in the Spring, that is if I could not come up with a job based recovery to give all 3 groups some hope things will get better.

Anyway those are my thoughts..

The blog isn't total fear mongering, at least it has a kernel of truth to it...

MOSCOW -- For a decade, Russian academic Igor Panarin has been predicting the U.S. will fall apart in 2010. For most of that time, he admits, few took his argument -- that an economic and moral collapse will trigger a civil war and the eventual breakup of the U.S. -- very seriously. Now he's found an eager audience: Russian state media.
[Prof. Panarin]

In recent weeks, he's been interviewed as much as twice a day about his predictions. "It's a record," says Prof. Panarin. "But I think the attention is going to grow even stronger."

Prof. Panarin, 50 years old, is not a fringe figure. A former KGB analyst, he is dean of the Russian Foreign Ministry's academy for future diplomats. He is invited to Kremlin receptions, lectures students, publishes books, and appears in the media as an expert on U.S.-Russia relations.

This is what brought me to ATS in the first place. It seemed to me back then that the US was headed to a second civil war. It just might happen. If you look online you will see a lot of conservative groups that feel that a civil war is inevitable and warranted.

Combine the economic downturn with the amount of guns that are now in the hands of individuals along with people profiting on scaring the living hell out of other people and you have a nice recipe for a civil war.

Speaking of problems by spring and the mass unemployment. We should first realize that unemployment is worse than the numbers show, because unemployment statistics do not count those who have used all their benefits, those who have given up or only look once a week due to the lack of new jobs, those who are underemployed and rely on savings or other supplementals like food stamps to survive.

Everyone whose unemployment benefits run out before the end of the year will get roughly 14 weeks more from the second extension that was recently passed, and up to 20 weeks depending on how bad it is in their state.

If things don't drastically improve in the job market. The job market not the economy in the next 3 to 4 months. There will be massive numbers of people who are going to have used all available unemployment benefits and still have no job.

If this happens it will be a flash point as people become desperate. Loosing their homes, and unable to secure food.

When people have nothing left to lose, and they've lost everything, they lose it. ~Gerald Celente

If the American people go to war against each other they are effing morons. We need to band together and go to war against our government. And that includes the President, Treasury Secretary, Fed Chairman and every other schmuck ruining the American economy. Obama is a lame duck do nothing President.

We can start the revolution here in CA and start with that douchebag Schwarzenegger.
