It's definitely a sad day, and a terrible sign when I have to agree with Michael Moore. Makes me think that the end is truly near. Right there with you buddy.

No man don t do this , If Moore tell this to the Army all of the al queda will retreat on their bike just like the Taliban leader 9 years ago....

I am no big fan on Mr. Moore, but he is right. This will end bad, very bad. If we think we will pull out after 18 months then we are all lying to ourselves. For some reason we are now in war with the Taliban, not sure what the true point is. It’s like going to war with a drug cartel in their own country. It must have something to do with the opium someone within the Gov is making money on it and don't want to stop the drug train yet. I really thought the liberals would end this and bring them home; I am more that shocked that they have laid fourth this asinine plan that in reality would take 3-5 years to get most of its three stages complete. History must not be a politician’s strong suite.

One blind fool telling the other blind fool the safe way to go.

Both of them could walk right off a cliff and no tears would be shed except for the fact they are husbands, fathers and human beings. Moore has no better idea what to do regarding military planning the BHO. Why give advice then? Moore hates the US, hates capitalism (although he profits from it) and hates the military. It's easy to blame Bush and call the rep party foolish. Popular opinions, that is, until this socialist BS BHO has stirred up finally chokes those that have been drinking it by the GD cooler full and realized they need a president that understands business and how the US should be run.

Screw moore and his socialistic ideas. He has the money. He doesn't care if you have it or not. He's going to be living high on the hog. Too bad many of you fools are blinded by "change" and "hope" to realize what is going on. I hope those that voted for him are the ones getting laid off, fired, downsized and have to explain to your kids why Santa is only bringing food for Christmas. You deserve every ounce of this misery. Too bad it has to suck for everyone.

And with that, I wish everyone a nice night!

Wow, I wish America really would do this so the rest of us can finally get your weight off our shoulders! Think, people sorting out their own problems without a self-obssessed and ignorant culture separated by thousands of miles and purity of conscience intefering in EVERY LAST DAMN THING any other culture tries to achieve.

I see they don't teach history wherever it is that you live.

The last time we took all our toys and went home so the rest of you "civilized people" could get our weight off your shoulders you decided to burn half of Europe and Asia to the ground.

But maybe you're right. Maybe America needs to go home for a while and let the world sort out their own problems without our ignorant culture meddling in your business.

When the next Hitler rises in Europe, perhaps good ole Europe can call the Chinese for help.

Well said. I agree with what you said. I've always wondered why we are worried about the welfares of countries that don't pertain to the U.S. personally. We do need to focus on our turf first and foremost.

Hmm... tell me, in that history that you've learned America "helped" or did it make the best deal in history?

Cause I dont remember America ever doing anything for free... specially the WW2.

If the US had a "golden age" was because of the profit it made with WW2... it was no help, and yes, next time please be quiet and dont mess with other people's affairs... maybe then we dont have another 2 nukes blowing up killing thousands of innocents ending up with a cold war and fear mongering that lasted till today.

Thanks for the "history heads-up" on "US help"

I agree with you, even though i'm not american, you should put the welfare of the people back home first.
Every time you get a good president, he gets shot, every time you get a bad one, he goes on to serve another term.
Throwing 100,000 squaddies into the fray will not solve the problem, if you want to knock out the Taliban, better to send in a few small teams of special forces-it's what they are trained to do.

If I could give that response 1,000 flags, I would. Its time common sense came into play.

ahh yes but you see mate... politicians are trained in years of law, and political science to take the most nonesensical route to get to point b.
How could we justify billions of taxpayer money buying their over priced dinners, and suits, and all that crap. How else could we justify the carefree lifestyle they enjoy on us? regardless of where you are from politicians are put through expensive legacy education to properly tell you "No mr and mrs tax payer... we arent doing any of the things you asked us not to do" while doing them infront of you.

and yes they will do things like retards until the end of time because we do nothing to stop them. Every civilisation has its revolt, and overthrow of old ways to make for the new. This is how we advance in societies. Now, its our turn, and things are fixing to get way out of hand.

Soon enough though, we will be considered the dark ages, when man was too stupid to have known how to fly, or battle with WMD's

mike moore is a blithering idiot..... does he really have that big an ego that he thinks obama would even read his letter let alone listen to him. I have been completely against 99% of what obama does and I still disagree with how he is handling this, but I do have to say that, he obviously has way more information about what is going on over there for him to send any troops at all he must have seen a reason. The general public has NO IDEA how things are and what the situation is.....now that obama is in the White House and is hearing all of the information, he has obviously changed his mind on some things. I am surprised he sent any troops, eventhough it is not enoough, I was surprised at the number he is sending. And I am also glad obama went against his promise, now he will get less votes next election!!!!! GOOD!

In a perfect world, That would be the ideal senario.
The real truth, however, is contrary to anything that would benefit the Nation which is basically owned by international interests and all POTUS since JFK are but puppets on a string...Yes...Including Reagan...(Post Assassination attempt of course), when he did stop poking around ruffling the feathers of certain PTB, and certain future president who may not have wanted to wait for a camapign , but rather, might intend to assume the role under circumstances that justify taking over the role, such as an assassination.
So, unless Congress retakes their power to coin monies, and we get out of the world babysitting and control policies, (Big Oil and Defense are the main profiteers and as Jesse Ventura states on Larry King recently, it's another Viet Nam...The Russians couldn't win there, China, England, nor will the US forces do other than cause more death of patriot servicemen and women and other nationals around the globefor the profitting of an elite few who are widenning the gap between middle class and themsleves exponentially with the blood of Americans and it seems this will be demise, mirroring Russians collapse of the '80's.

So it ends, a noble cause perverted early on as expected without challenge, the forefathers greatest fear realized.
I also believe Michael's tangent was a bit off and takes away from the message intended, weakening his credibility suffuciently enough that the masses will find the letter of sub-par intellect.

This president was picked to be president by the same people who picked W and Clinton to be president. He has no real power. Just a puppet put in place for people to believe that they have the option of choosing.

Wow..... Do you really feel that the US has never helped another country for free?
Guess you didn't have anyone in your family storming the beaches to prevent a monster from eating up all of europe. Do you speak German, just curious? Perhaps you had relatives in the basements, attics or hiding elsewhere until the US/Allies came to bail them out. Yeah, you should have asked them if they minded the US showing up or would rather them leave. Ask those kids who watched the nazi's kill their parents or take their neighbors away to get gassed if the want help.

You're pretty pathetic and live in a thin, glass house. Nothing comes free friend but I don't remember the US keeping any of the land they took back from the Germans. Perhaps your history books need to be updated or you need to get your head out of your backside. Maybe both.

Many of us can agree that Michael Moore is a self-important D-Bag with a moderate to low intellectual ability - but in this case he is right. Afghanistan is not a country as we think of the term. It is a region with different ethnic and lingustic populations that has no real economy beyond subsistence farming and poppy growing. It has never been, since Alexander the Great's invasion, a "real" nation, and the US cannot make it one. Get out, observe and if the Taliban starts to offer refuge to AQ again, destroy their infrastructure totally and completely. Make sure the powers-that-be in the country know that we have the will to bomb them past the stone-age into the Precambrian age. Hopefully we actually do have that will.

Europeans created all the problems of today. They created different countries in the middle east where they never existed. Their imperialist ways have made the middle east divided on ethnic lines.

weight of your shoulders? WW2 and WW1 wasn't our wars and will spilled blood for the war mongering euros.

The US is fixing the problems and we did a good job ending the euro imperialist ways.

Funny, we rebuilt france and germany after ww2. We saved the french franc from failing. Euros biggest cowards.

Bit black and white that, certain boundaries have been unhelpful, but this is the real world, there is no option when leaving, you have to have lines of delineation somewhere, and there will be no solution which doesn't upset someone- I also think we should not infantalise the people who live IN the middle east, I think they may be responsible for their actions somewhat.............

Let us be honest, helpful in some ways as American involvement was, the US was not forced to go to war in either example- also, the financial terms of involvment in WW2 are self evident

The US is fixing the problems and we did a good job ending the euro imperialist ways.

You should realise that the US empire replaced the British one, albeit it slightly subtley (though not always)

The US didnt keep any part of european territory after WW2? Nothing at all? So they came, won, and went away?.. There are 3 chances here: Either you're stupid, ignorant or simply illiterate.

Go read a bit then come back.

This is why the rest of the civilized world sees america as a bunch of ignorants who point Iraq in Australia...

Some will find this helpful as to why the POTUS is powerless:

www.youtube.com...

Michael Moore is not objective enough to do commentary.

It puts his motivations in question.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think this letter MM wrote is not intended for Mr. Obama.

It's there to arouse suspicion to those believing that :

• the loosing team in a game of sports should be killed by the winning team.

Yes? No?
