I studied Sound Engineering for a period of time and can say with a high degree of certainty that the "Whoosh" sound is a common royalty free sample.

A more realistic sound for a type of weapon which produces the result depicted in the picture would typically cause clipping in the sound recording - I do not hear the expected clipping in this sound recording and the "whoosh" is "too audible" as if it were inserted into the video using a production suite like ProTools

I see your point..well said. Also thanks to MadHatter for pointing out the smoke, that pretty much convinced me that it is fake. Also the original youtube poster has alot of experience and interest in UFO's so it would not be a stretch of the imagination to believe this video is fake, which I am now convinced it is.

Proof is in the pudding as they say.

If its real, whoever was shooting the "ray gun" is behind the camera. You can see the light coming from the bottom left corner and shining all the way past the car in the upper right.

Its not a "ray gun", its the swivel light that police have next to their driver side mirror. Which is equal in height and coming from roughly the same direction as the dash cam.

The officer looks like he was hit with a high powered laser. This is a strange video. It does not look CGI to me.

Observe the smoke at the end, coming off of the clothes. It's the same exact puffs four times. It's CGI or other added effects.

No cops were hurt in the making of this video, I'm sure.

I believe the sound of the car skidding away and the police over the radio are stock audio samples as well.
Could be wrong though.

Oh c'mon.. this has to be for a movie, or something. There is no way this is legit.

Just saying.

This is what I'm saying.

It does look good - and if it is CGI (which it probably is), it's a damn good job!!!! No doubt probably for a movie.

So I'm calling shenanigans as far as it being a real-life incident. The dude that drove away would have told many people what happened.

Hysterical how the car just peeled off after the cop got turned to ashes!

Those cameras don't record sound outside the vehicle. God people, use your brains.

There are also patents for free energy devices. That doesn't mean they are actually in use.

I could be wrong though.

Doesn't everyone carry alien technology in their ford taurus?
Haven't you seen MiB?
Come on people.

It's fake.

Just take a look at the cop's side pants when he's approaching the vehicle. It's already lit like a light saber near him, so it could just be some light effects from his own pants that make it seem like he's fried.

Don't you find it a bit weird how his pants are glowing BEFORE he approaches the car?

All of you are missing the obvious.

With all the "cop tazers (insert whatever you like here)" threads and videos going around.

It's payback baby!

On the other hand. Another BS thread kept alive here on slow days.

Look at the angle of the light, its this:

Most likely some cops who were playing around, and made this video for the fun of it.

Dead police officers make the news. I just don't see how something like this could be hidden. Interesting video though.

Here look at the beam angle...

You can see its coming from the left side of the dashcam where those lights are mounted. They add a little pyrotechnics that the officer lights when he crumples over, before he falls into a heap, then enhance the rest with CGI.
