Pakistan must help break al-Qaeda, warns Brown

Gordon Brown has told the BBC that Pakistan must do more to "break" al-Qaeda and find Osama Bin Laden.

Eight years after the 2001 attacks on the US, nobody had been able "to spot or detain or get close to" the al-Qaeda leader, the prime minister said.

Pakistan's security services must join fully in the "major effort" to isolate the terrorist group, he warned.

So after 8 years of fighting, billions of dollars in spending, installing and maintaining a very dubious government in the country next door, we still can't find the guy we're supposed to be fighting against.

We now need help from Pakistan?

I'm very concerned if this is the sum total of eight years worth of intelligence!

Assuming Bin Laden's even still alive, which is unlikely in my opinion, isn't Pakistan already doing a great deal to battle the Taliban?

Over the past months I seem to remember reading many articles about intense battles in Pakistan and in the Swat valley in particular.

Meh, I suppose it's just Gordon Brown talking crap as usual..
