A few days ago, a US journalist and her team were held by officials in Vancouver for several hours of questioning. SHe is a leading light in focusing on matters like the War on Iraq.

Bizarrely, the officials were extremely interested in question whether she would be involved in any public speaking about the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, even though the thought had never crossed her mind and she has never done so.

Do these officials know something about the 2010 Vancouver Games in February that we don't?

How many truely cool cities are there? with few genuine issues and cool people and good times and low stress...

On this continent...there is Vancouver lol

If they Nuke it they are going to double hell, that's Hell, plus after redemption you get sent back to hell anyway and all the demons have only you and your buddies to pick on and your outnumbered 1000 to one because evryone else has been forgiven

That's double Hell, that's what happens if you nuke Vancouver

LOL it's Vancouver...

They were talking about an Atomic Bong not an Atomic bomb

It's the only obvious answer to this

Well hell, where is a Canadian, when you need them?

Canada, tries to sit silently to the north.

'Bout time they took the heat for trying to dissapear!

But, hey, ya know, we're just Canadians.

That would cause millions of people to eat everything in sight.

Maybe it's a plot to starve the population of the city.

Creative yet delightfully eevvill.

Well based on articles like this it's possible that authorities are attempting to quell any efforts aimed at being anti-olympic.

A proposed B.C. law would allow municipal officials to enter homes to seize unauthorized and possibly anti-Olympic signs on short notice, civil libertarians say.

Violators could be fined up to $10,000 a day and jailed up to six months, the B.C. Civil Liberties Association said Friday.

The proposed law was introduced Thursday as a bill to amend the Municipalities Enabling and Validating Act.

I believe the latest is that the BC government has since stepped back from this draconian approach and seen the light of day. It might explain how those in charge are perhaps scrutinizing US visitors, especially perceived trouble makers, and requesting border services to present themselves as even more of an a-hole than normal (is that even possible?). Sidebar I hope that more of the anti olympic crowd, if in fact that is the case here, steps up and shows the world what a pathetic and self absorbed event this is. Spend the money on something of importance.
