I'm open to all sides of any religion, as I still haven't even come close to knowing all there is to know yet.
However, I saw an ad for this chat with a Mormon website, and decided to log on.
What a waste of time.
I asked for proof their God exsisted, and I was told basically that all the proof anyone needed was either from God itself, or from the prophet Tomas whatever who they believe talks to God anytime he wants, yet they could not prove this.

I had a good laugh when one child, and that's really for the most part all whom I talked to, kids...told me all other religions were evil, and they all wore magic underpants to protect them from this evil, as well as fire, etc...yet I was unable to see even a picture of these soooooooo special magically Mormonly delicious things lol.

What a crock of #.

Just like all other churches I've spoken too I recieved nothing but a beat around the bush excuse.

-sigh- I guess I'm still going to have to look.

religion is the root of all evil. and what does the mormon religion ask for? to even get into the temple? thats right. MONEY.

Religious people are so blinded by illusion that if you even attempt to try and open there eyes they would just curl up in a ball in the corner.

What did you expect, a photo of a bearded man in a throne to be email to you? There is no proof for any religion and be suspect if it is provided. Mormonism is one of the more "offbeat" western religions and harder nuts to crack when it comes to asking for proof. Look at Joseph Smith! You should have asked about him. He was the only one that could see the information on 7 golden plates that confirmed his radical story. They are also one of the harshest churches to it's members when questions are asked, even when done so in private.

But also, as a side note, most of the nicest and caring people I have met in life turned out to be Mormon. And oddly enough there are a lot of them are in the secret service. BEGIN ANOTHER CONSPIRACY. I think it's because they are some of the most devote and decent people in the US. If that's good or bad, I have no idea.

From my experience the Mormons are great people, and they seemed less anti-other-faiths than most streams of Christianity. I've tried reading the Book of Mormon, but found it very tediously badly written.
Icke and other conspiracists point out the similarities with Masonry, and Joseph Smith was certainly a Mason.
On a more mundane level, I saw that they produced a gorgeous calendar of shirtless young missionaries ("The men on a Mission" calendar, and later suggestive Mormon mums in "Mormon Muffins"). The male calendar was labelled gay porn by some, although it was apparently intended to overthrow stereotypes - and boy, it certainly did! I thought that any religion that allows this can't be all wrong. But alas, it turns out the maker of the calendars is now an ex-Mormon and was denied his degree from the Brigham Young University (www.yorkblog.com...).
I assume it earned a lot of money, which makes me wonder why other ministries don't bring out calendars with for example, a shirtless Benny Hinn, Rod Parsely, Joel Osteen and John Hagee?

Religion is nothing but a concept; an abstract that is acted upon by human beings. It requires a person to make it either good or ee-ville. By itself, religion is as harmless as a gun without someone attached to it.

Not trying to preach here... but we as thinking beings should take responsibility for our behavior and not pawn it off on inanimate concepts.

what a dumb thread op, you admit you have no idea what your talking about then go on to talk badly about something you dont know about. im agnostic and will be till i die but i know a lot about the lds faith and there is no reson to have anything but respect for these people. these "magic underwear" are not underwear at all, its a shirt and some boxer type shorts they wear under there clothing, its a symbolic thing achieved after getting married in there temple. something every religon does(silly symbolic crap). if your looking for excuses to call a religion crazy, thats easy to do for any of them.

It seems this kind of "question" you are not asking is meant to fan the flames of the anti-religion people in general.

Frankly, as you offer no conspiratorial angle to appreciate, I will move this thread to the Rant forum, where you should have started it in the first place.

Word of advice: Derision and disrespect are no way to start to a thread, much less title it.

yeah honestly that sounded like an absolute flame. I don't believe one bit in Mormonism but I have two comments...

1. No religion can prove to you that their deity exists

2. If you approach like that then to me you are just as bad
