China reports 8 cases of swine flu mutation

I think that this report is something out of the ordinary that we all should keep an eye on.

China, with it's huge population - not to mention Chinese cities with very high population densities - is arguably one of the best incubators for DNA mutations in viruses.

Here's an extract from the AP report:



BEIJING — China has detected eight cases of swine flu mutation, a health official said Wednesday, amid longstanding concerns among scientists that the virus could change into a more dangerous form. Last week, the World Health Organization said it was investigating samples of variant swine flu linked to two deaths in Norway.
