You have to clearly agree that we, the Western/European economies depend on the cheap laber that both India and China supply. If everyone changed tomorrow to buy American, if possible, there would little change because there is no choice. Everything is made in China or have already went out of business because they can't compete. The biggest blow to China already happened. The recession stopped everything from being purchased. Dozens of factories shutdown in China and are still empty. China relies on our greed to keep building their power base. They already own us based on the US debt they hold and now they want to be the sole goods supplier to put us in a stranglehold that we couldn't get out of. My advice is to spend the extra $10 on American made products. The job you save may be your own.

By the way, if they ever demand repayment, they will get Alaska or Hawaii with money to spare!

My company is trying to manufacture a new product for smartphones. We get outrageously great estimates from China and Taiwan, but what we found out was chilling. We will not manufacture there. It's a massive market, but by the time it hit the shelves knock-offs would already saturate the country and surrounding markets. If we ordered manufacturing, they would hold our delivery a few days, take our designs and have them on the street weeks before we even hear about it.

No! CHINA IS NOT INDIA.

In India, however, cheap, they actually PAY workers wages which ultimately filters through the economy, raising their standard of living and ultimately will bring them on par with us and with their same greed fro consumer junk.

In China, they use SLAVE CAMP, no wages, just a hunk of rotting bread a day which cannot be competed with and will NOT filter through the economy to improve their lot, only bring our standard of living down to the level of slavery too.

Incidentally, Quebec is already in a sopontaneous state of revolt against China. People are trying to avoid Chinese goods on a massive scale.

In the local mall, there was a shop selling cookware. Everything was Chinese and the store had a huge markup on the low cost goods. They went bankrupt. ANother person bought the store, dumped all the Chinese garbagwe and only sells German and French stuff there now which give them a tiny markup on the goods that are several TIMES the price of the old Chinese stuff. This one store cleared $500,000 in its first six months and they have one person employed around the clock just to unload the lorry the stuff is selling so fast.

As far a sthe average Quebecois is concerned the word CHINESE goes with the words TOXIC WASTE.

No, you do not have to agree that we depend on India and China's cheap labor. You must have no idea what a great deal this country used to be.

Even if you assume the American people, and not just the richest ~10%, need and dramatically benefit cheap foreign labor, we do not need India and China specifically. The world is full of wretchedly poor, desperate people. It doesn't have to be India and China.

Who really has who over a barrel? The global mass media wants everyone to think that the Chinese are getting a great deal, especially the Chinese people.

It's China that is screwed. They can't let their own currency appreciate without devaluing their massive dollar holdings. China needs to do everything it can to push employment just to maintain stability.

And no, the Chinese will not be getting Alaska. You'd have to be one of history's true retards to make a mistake like that. Seriously, among many other objections, the Chinese are far far behind AMERICANS in terms of US debt ownership, they are just the largest FOREIGN creditor. Hey we should sell Alaska to our selves then right?

Your point is taken.However what better time to create business? Provide new jobs for Americans,manufacturing products for American people. There are many people out of work that would take lower paying jobs if they were offered.This is a good time to open mom and pop niche shops for clothing and such.
