BART officer, passenger injured in scuffle caught on video

www.cnn.com

An Oakland, California-area transit police officer was captured on video forcing the head of an unruly man into a heavy-duty glass window, which shattered, during an arrest at a passenger station, authorities said.

The officer sustained facial lacerations and a concussion, while Gibson suffered cuts to his hand, forearm, palm and a cut to his head. Both were treated at a hospital.

These BART cops must be pretty awful and do this regularly.

And can you believe the article?? It completely switched the injuries around, with the cop getting a "concussion" instead of the guy whose head was smashed into the glass. It even claimed that the cop had "facial lacerations". That's supposed to be the guy that got his "face" smashed through the glass.. not the cop doing the face smashing..

Man, America is backwards.

I don't think that cop had the intention to slam the guys head through the glass. You've seen COPS, right? It seems to be pretty normal that once the cops get a hold of someone, they force them to the ground or against the wall. It just so happened that the glass wasn't able to stand up to the slamming.

This video doesn't tell us anything about the situation either. Why is it that we assume that the cop is at fault? All we can see is that guy standing up on the train, yelling something, then he gets off, followed by the cop. Apparently, based on this report, the guy was drunk and acting disorderly. Should the cop have just let him go on his way?
