Afghan blasts, firefight kill 4 U.S. troops

KABUL - Four U.S. service members were killed in the past 24 hours in Afghanistan, NATO forces said Monday.

Three of the Americans died in southern Afghanistan on Sunday, the statement said. Two of them were killed by a bomb attack and the third in a separate firefight.

The military said the fourth U.S. service member died in the east Monday in a bomb explosion.

War is hell, people die it's how it is.

On June 6th 1944 we had entire platoons and companies wiped out. Litterly every single man in A/1/116th Infantry was killed or wounded on Omaha Beach. Lt. Col. James Rudder's 2nd Ranger Battalion suffered 135 dead and wounded out of a force of 225 in the assault on the German coastal artillery battery at Pointe du Hoc. THAT is a real war.
