Found this today browsing Time as I often do over the weekend. It talks about Iran the US and how things will get very much heated in the next few months.

Here's a tidbit:

President Barack Obama spent much of his time in Asia warning Iran that his patience for nuclear diplomacy is wearing thin. "Iran has taken weeks now and has not shown its willingness to say yes to this proposal," Obama said Thursday in Seoul, referring to a deal under which Iran would export the bulk of its stock of enriched uranium to Russia for conversion into reactor fuel. "And so, as a consequence we have begun discussions with our international partners about the importance of having consequences."

But Friday's meeting in Brussels between representatives of the group of Western powers, Russia and China that has been negotiating with Iran produced little indication that new sanctions may be imminent if Iran continue to prevaricate. The difficulty facing Washington in mustering support for ratcheting up pressure on Iran was already clear in Thursday's statement by a Russian foreign ministry official that, "As far as we know, there has been no final official answer from Tehran", and that "there is currently no discussion on working out additional sanctions against Iran." And Friday's Brussels meeting simply reaffirmed disappointment in Iran's failure to embrace the deal thus far, but reiterated the commitment of the Western powers, Russia and China to continue to engage in dialogue with Tehran.

You can read the rest of the article here.

This is just more of the same. The US trying to flex it's diplomatic muscles while th rest of the world watches. I am really surprised that he's saying that his patience is "growing" thin becuase Iran won't say yes. Not that they won't negotiate, but because they won't comply with every demand, whithout getting any of it's own.

The last time I checked it was called a "negotiation", not an ultimatum. We all know what happened the last time the US gave one to a Middle Eastern country.

What do you all think ATS? Any sort of conflict coming in the future or will the US, China and Russia just bark more orders to deaf ears?

I think its going to drag out for a while and then Obama will final decide its time for some airstrikes and then he will move ground troops in for a ground assault like Iraq.

Lets just hope we don't piss off Russia and have a bigger threat than we already have, specially with are troops wearing thin.

Why can't we just back off U.N. should be handling Iran not the U.S. thier the NWO let them do the work, without the U.S. being thier muscle.

They don't have much do you see Russia or China with large numbers of troops over thier nope. Our bothers and sisters are dieing to protect the world let them do some work for a change.

Our troops be here on our borders to protect our country and use that war money to inprove the Guardian System and we would never have to worry about other countries messing with us.

Our troops need to be home with thier familys and back in thier own country no wonder the middle east hates us they can't do anything with out the U.S. crying about something.

Why ain't we going after Isreal thier the real problem they threaten to NUKE iran thier the problem not Iran, Iran wants to protect it self can you blame them?

Thats the same thing were doing trying to protect our country.

That am-a-mad-dinner jacket has some metal issues and the country is run by a brianwashed religious sect is a no brainer.

I find it a shame thought that the whole of Iran is not treated with a bit of respect. There is a base level of respect that everyone should be given but because there is a madman at the helm Iran as a whole is going to suffer.

I would hazzard a guess that most people that live there want a better life for them self and there kids, they want tv's car's good housing.

So instead of instigaiting a war why don't the Americans or even the UN say we will help you to build the nuclear power stations, help with the fuel but it must all be accounted for, watched and then removed from the country for reprocesing.

Give them a chance the moment some of it goes missing or cant be accounted for then they have given cause for having there asses kicked.

In any war it is always the people in the street that suffer the most. Any war with Iran will see there political elite be safe and well fed in great comfort whilst the rest of the populas starves or dies.
