Some knew before the crossing that they had diabetes or lupus or high blood pressure, but it was only after they arrived that their kidneys began to fail. To survive, they needed dialysis at a cost of about $50,000 a year
And so they turned to Grady, a taxpayer-supported safety-net hospital that would provide dialysis to anyone in need, even illegal immigrants with no insurance or ability to pay.
strapped public hospital closed its outpatient dialysis clinic, leaving 51 patients — almost a
According to a report from the New York Times- Grady has faced financial shortages for 10 out of the past 11 years. This report revealed that Grady requires over $360 million dollars for replacement of old machinery and medical equipment. Along with struggling for funds to purchase new medical equipment there is a challenge to attract new physicians and residents to the hospital. Local Grady doctors come from nearby Morehouse School of Medicine and Emory School of Medicine. However, The New York Times Report highlighted that over $70 million dollars is owed to these schools.

I have a terrific solution to this problem. Have the liberal groups who are jamming the illegals down our throats pass the hat and set up a center on the other side of the Rio Grande.
It is awful that sick folks are not getting the treatment they need. Keep in mind that a number of them come here when they are sick to get the treatment rather than come here and get sick and therefore need the treatment.
Another way to look at this is to look into the hospitals in southern AZ and TX which have had to close because of the number of illegals swamping them and they are unable to pay yet the hospital has to provide the care. These hospitals have simply shut their doors and there are towns of Americans who used to have a hospital or small urgent care facility in their town who now have to drive over an hour to get to a medical facility. I'm more concerned about that than a bunch of illegals who have to go back home to get medical care in the country in which they are a citizen.
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
