"Obama opened the possibility" he may not run in 2012? Maybe we are jumping the gun here about what he intends to do as that election is still 3 years away?? Maybe his not even through a quarter of his administration to fully decide?? Really??

Ehmmmmmmm... From what was quoted that a far stretch from saying he won't run. And I don't for a moment believe that if he were offered the nomination that he would turn it down.

You know, if - if I feel like I've made the very best decisions for the American people and three years from now I look at it and, you know, my poll numbers are in the tank and because we've gone through these wrenching changes, you know, politically, I'm in a tough spot, I'll - I'll feel all right about myself,"

If he is really making the best, or even what he thinks are the best, choices for America. Then why would the changes be so wrenching. That's the part that scares me, "wrenching changes".

It makes me wonder if I will even recognize my America by 2012. What I would give to know what he knows.

Either way, I have to agree that it is waaaay to early to jump to conclusions, and what he did say is a pretty far cry from actually saying he would not run. In fact if you read the whole article you will see that he likely will run, numbers in the tank and surrounded by the crumbling ruins of what was America and all.

Wow another wildly speculative Obama thread from a distant unknown source. Why does the right fear Obama so much?

Distant unknown source? It's right there on CNN.

Well maybe Obama is not like some others who would insist on useing fear tactics, voter fraud, and mud slinging political ads to get re-elected.

That's a good thing even if he does become a one term president after all.

He's three years away from reelection.

Not only would he do all of the items listed above but he's started campaigning two and a half years early.

Can you believe this guy! Not even in office a year and he's already giving up 'cause his Poll Numbers are in the tank!

Nah.

He's in for a promotion. He must be doing well.

Maybe he'll even receive the honour of being on his knees in front of Queen Lizard II.

There are 2 possible things going on:
1) He is finally realizing what it is to be President of the United States of America.
Or
2) He is trying to garner sympathy for himself, to get reelected into office.

He's probably planning on becoming Secretary General of the U.N....?

There's a seat ready and waiting for him, too!
www.jesus-is-savior.com...

After all,the Pich # numbers in Chicago,Nov.5,2008(the day the votes were tallied in Obama's favor) were "666"!

And "Yes,We Can" backwards says "Thank You,Satan."

Just crazy coincidences,...?

The way things are going they might pass a bill to adjust the term for presidency by then; and I am not fond that he truly believes he is doing whats best for us.

You mean this bill? House Resolution

This scares me more than anything I've read here at ATS.That means he has no incentive to please the populace and will do anything he sees fit,'cause what does he care he's not running again. It kind of puts him in the same category as a dictator(no repercussions)or a kamikaze.Thank god the blind obedience to this zealot is dissipating(thanks FOX news).I said it before but it bears repeating,This guy is bad for this country!

I think he said it because he wants to make sure all his wonderful (gag) policies get pasted. Health Care, Cap and Trade, and whatever other piece of crap legislation he really wants to be passed.. He has the Senate and the House now, after the 2010 elections, he might not have the same majority. So, I think he said it to put the fear of God into the Dems to stop messing around and get it passed before the 2010 election.

I also think that if he gets everything passed he wants to get passed and his numbers are in the bottom of the barrel, he won't run in 2012. If he can force through the things he really wants done while he's got the majority of both houses, I think he'll take the money and run and let the next poor guy to deal with the repercussions of the havoc he has wrought.

Bingo. The most successful politicians are the ones who keep making people forget they're politicians.

I suppose he is finding out that you have to be able to do something besides read a teleprompter and ask Nancy and Harry what to do now?

Thank you for that link, I checked it out and it seems to be a possibility since it has been "opened". I wonder when the last time this was attempted? At least for now it has no merit but it is still there...

---- I think it would have been "cool" if BOB had said that he will remove himself from office whenever his polls reach under a certain percentage. But then the loophole would be to forge the polls, and even though statistics are only grains of salt, that would be a very very large clump IMO...

Trying not to think about this and our future as a nation helps when I want to be in a good mood... thinking of the efforts to destabilize the american people and all things we hold dear in any sense really gets us fired up...

If we, the people, can be symbolized by anything I would imagine a Volcano would be the best image. Heat building up from down under, being held down and suffocated until we can't take it any longer and then we blow our top...

anyhow, thanks for the article and sorry about my mental direction/off topic ish babble. Have been reading the recent posts about what the administration is doing...
