Assailants massacre Sunni men, youths in Iraq's Abu Ghraib

news.yahoo.com...

how reliable is Yahoo? Pretty much mouth piece for very corrupt US govt.

"BAGHDAD — In a massacre that revived memories of Iraq's worst years of sectarian bloodshed, assailants dressed in Iraqi army uniforms savagely killed 13 men and boys late Sunday near the restive city of Abu Ghraib , according to Iraqi officials and villagers.

Most of the victims — some of whom reportedly were beheaded, while others were shot and then mutilated — were members of the Awakening, a Sunni Muslim movement that with U.S. backing and funding has fought the terrorist group al Qaida in Iraq .

Residents and security officials said that shortly before midnight, armed men in civilian vehicles raided two villages near Abu Ghraib — a city to the west of Baghdad that houses a major prison — took captives to a nearby cemetery named Seyid Mhimmed and killed them.

"I believe they were targeted because they formed Sahwas (Awakening councils) in the area and fought back al Qaida ," said Ibraheem Ismail , who described himself as a first cousin of seven of the victims and more distantly related to the rest."

"They raised anew fears about the future of the anti- al Qaida in Iraq Awakening movement after U.S. troops withdraw from Iraq . Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki's Shiite Muslim-dominated government has resisted incorporating members of the Sunni movement, some of whom previously cooperated with al Qaida in Iraq , into Iraq's security forces."

I quoted a lot of it.I did a quick check to see if it was in ATS, but didn't look too thoroughly.

It looks a lot like what CIA is most proud of. Probably a false flag attack. It looks very similar to a flase flag attack in Bangladesh, Feb 26, 2009, where the border guard were forced at gun point by soldiers they did not recognize but in their uniforms, to attack their officers. That hadto be CIA. The CIA does too much of this for people to keep believing that it is bona fide or at least non USA financed terrorists.

Meaning what it had to be the CIA? It must be the USA, there is no violence between Sunni and Shi'ites! Not every massacre is a CIA plot. The US has done some nasty stuff, but to try and turn everything like that into the US's fault is stupid. It sounds more like a revenge attack.

Have to agree with the other contributor. The notion of the CIA being behind everything bad is fat boy in his mother's basement level analysis.

There are terrible revenge murders happening throughout the Muslim Middle East and North Africa at any given time. Lawlessness prevails. Ask anyone who has lived there.

As bad as thing are in Iraq, they were ten time worse during Saddam's reign. A whole village could disappear over night if it was thought to harbour problem makers.

The country is on a slow but steady move towards becoming a civilized society. A very real al Qaida is bent on undoing positive steps so they can destabilize the entire country.

Iraqis don't want outsiders trying to foment a civil war. But AQ fights dirty brutally murdering to instill fear.
