Could someone explain to me how you get the post you want to reply too in the shaded area so that what your repling to can be referenced i keep doing somthing wrong .. Thank you

you could click the "quote" button.

or you can copy and paste what you want in the shaded post box and put the quote codes around it.

lets say you wanted to quote "i want a hat"

type
["quote"] i want a hat [/"quote"]

(take out the quotation marks to make the quoting thing work)
