The fact that a snake that lived millions of years ago could survive means that animals that live now can survive?

You do realize that we have different species alive now that are not adapted to live in the warmer temps?

Life ADAPTS to the environment, otherwise there wouldn't be any life on Earth. Similar, and even worse Climate Changes have occurred and here we are still.

BTW life THRIVES in warmer climates. The climate is not going to become "impossibly hot," unless something really bad happens to the Sun, or some other major disaster happens in the Solar System to cause this.

It is a fact that during the Medieval Warm period the world was much hotter than it is now. The same happened all over the world.

In Africa temperatures during the Medieval Warm Period was up to 3C warmer than it was in 1998. BTW 1998, and 2005 are still the warmest on record. Were there massive die-offs?

The temperature in Spain was up to 2C higher than today also during the Medieval Warm period, and there were no massive die-offs.

Life thrives on warm periods, and it suffers on cold periods.
