Michigan's woes are a combination of a lack of economic diversification efforts by both Granholm (D) and her predecessor Englar (R), and their
respective state legislators; in addition to crappy business practices by the Detroit Auto Industry; combined with Granholm (again) consistently
signing off on retarded bills which expose her lack of understand of basic economic principles. Plus, we have the whole Upper Peninsula, which
provides little to the economy these days, and drags the rest of the state down (no offense meant, I've got yooper blood in my veins). There are
other factors, as well.
Oh yeah, the global financial crisis was the straw that broke the camel's back.
