I'm sorry but I simply can't let this go unchallenged.

About the only place for real news is BBC.

Alas I wish it were so. I'm not ragging on you Shrike but the BBC has long since joined TPTBs propaganda arm. If anyone still thinks this organisation can be trusted, then your BS filters are set too low and your still getting suckered by the brainwashing machine.

There is no doubt in my mind that any sane person would come to the same conclusion if they set up two TVs next to each other, with one tuned to the BBC news channel and the other tuned to Al Jazeera. What is left out of the BBC amounts to blatant chronyism of the worst order. And republicans please don't have a coronary at the mention of that name it simply means 'The Island' and if you do any research at all you'll find it's a well respected station.

That said can someone point me to a youtube link or similar as we Brits are getting 'can't play video in your country' messages and this looks like a really good debate in which to sweep in at the last moment and take all the glory No no I really do need a link.

At the risk of going off topic (which I'm sure the Mods will take care of if so), my beef with Glenn Beck is that he is one sided in his hard hitting "journalism". I have yet to see him or anyone on Fox News go on like they do (sometimes for days and even weeks at a time) when a Republican gets caught red handed. Instead, most of the time, they completely skirt the issue and talk about how horrid the liberal reaction is to the issue, not the issue itself.

IMO, he also embellishes way too much. I heard him talk about "tolerance camps" saying they were really just training kids to be communists.

Now, I'm not saying any of those other cable news channels are any different (CNN, MSNBC) but I haven't seen the same degrading actions by it's "reporters" that I have on Fox (yelling, screaming, name calling, cutting mics, etc). I mean, Lou Dobbs isn't exactly a liberal and his reporting is often one sided, but he's not up there yelling and screaming and calling people unpatriotic socialist/communists. I tend to want to listen to him more because of that. I like to listen to opposing views, but not when the people giving them are making me feel like I'm somehow less than human and deserve to be either hung or ostracized just because my views differ from theirs.

Fox News plays on people's emotions instead of their sensibilities. And, as we've seen in this thread, manufactures news.

Fox News does not equal Sean Hannity any more than it equals Geraldo.

Second line.

For one I have heard they have a lot more access to the south then other networks. Also their basis is the south.Basically old white people.

When you look at the numbers, actually 20% of democrats watch it to see what the right is saying, while the opposite isn't as true.

Also, just having more numbers doesnt' give credibility. Basically a lot of people watch it the same reason people listen to howard stern when they can't stand him. They want to see what stupid thing they will do next.

While having lesser numbers, people report depending on CNN for real news.

Fox is turning itself into entertainment news, not real news.

And they are scraping the bottom of the barrel as far as watchers go.

75% of people who watch Fox believe that Sadaam was linked to 9/11.

Who do the smartest people watch with the highest levels of education?........

Jon STewart.

Wow the lows Fox News reaches leaves a sour taste in my mouth. They can no longer be considered journalists and news reporters any more.

EPIC FAIL!

S&F good post mate.

That was a neat skit by Stewart.

I like watching Fox News, I know their slant but they talk about issues no one else brings up.

It is ironic how Stewarts presentation is on key, and those that really lock step to the Fox Indoctrination methods are equally blind sheep as the rest of us.

So many people think that Fox is the true news organization, yet this shows clearly they are just as lousy as the sides they accuse of being so one sided.

Nice one Snarf, maybe a guest panel comprised from more of those, 'in the know' would help the show along.
