You would think so, I know.
One would imagine that as humans we are quite evolved, but we are not.

Hum...I hate to blast your airborne bubble but running off to Europe want help you much. That part of the world is as f**k-up as this nation of idiots. This is a global issue of no return but only forward into a world of insane insanity.

NO PLACE TO HIDE AND NO PLACE TO RUN!!!......Only fools of which their are many will attempt this laughable solution maybe finding something even worse. My humble advice.....stay put and just take it up the a** along with the rest of us.

"Don't go as an American go as a Human that just started his journey in America. Colour, cast or creed is of no relevence to the non ignorant"

That is profound writing and I thank you. I will be going just as you have suggested; in that fashion.
The second part really vibes with the theme of the ATS and also with my thread.

I thought that you probably hadn't lived abroad and only visited. My words to you; visiting a place and living there are two totally different things. Remember that. Life isn't always peaches and cream here in Europe, especially when you're an immigrant jostling for your place in your new home.

exactly. people have been running westward throughout modern history to escape persecution of all types.

now the world is mapped and surveilled completely with satellites and modern technology.

either stand up for whats right and take our principles back or run away and get shot in the back.

the choice is yours.

"It's far easier for the armchair patriots to spout off stereotype racism that is based on three politicians and four comedians than to actually learn anything about world history and to intelligently talk about the customs and lifestyles of other countries. "

Agreed one hundred percent. The armchair patriots: lmao
The Armchair Patriots would be a cool song title. Would you mind if I use it?
Thank you for that really cool reply.

Just that America being founded on it along with several other atrocities was not a very good begining.

EVERY nation was founded the same way, but some people forget this fact very fast.

I lived in Europe for 9 almost 10 years, and I saw discrimination towards non-Europeans, even when half of my family is from Europe, and my great-grandfather on my mother's side is from Ayo De Vidriales, in northern Zamora, meanwhile on my father's side they hail from Tenerife, in the canary island.

Even then i saw discrimination, because i was born in Cuba. Some of the adults are not that closed minded, and although there are, or were good things in Spain, and Portugal, some of which I miss, I will not move back there for any reason.

Fleeing is not going to solve anything, more so because other countries are going through the same, or worse than what the United States has been going through.

A global One World Socialist government is the goal, and there is nowhere you can hide from it.

BTW, Spain is in a lot worse shape than the United States right now. Job related, and economically related.

First I wouldn't call Europe a better place to live. Have you ever been there?

Have never been there. But to you it might not be better, but to others it may well be.

Dragon will ultimately find out which is better.

If I were going to leave the US, I'd leave for a place filled with extremely beautiful women. Unfortunately, that place doesn't exist, at least not on this planet.

Life just sucks in general really. Hopefully, it's really all a temporary contract.

Dont go to the UK because its just as bad.

Nice idealistic dream - I hope it works for you. To each his/her own I say.

Just keep in mind that you should learn to fake a good local accent wherever you go, and to try to at least look like you aren't an American everywhere you find yourself.

Many will say "Oh we love Americans, just not their government". Yeah. Ok. I am sure that's true in some cases, but just take a look around at some of what people spew out (even on this thread), and you will see there are more American haters in the world than most would like to believe. And I only say that due to the sheer numbers of "the rest of the world" in comparison to those native to the U.S. Are we a good nation? I don't know: Is there any such thing as "good"?

But, I digress.

Find nice people over there, I am sure there are many. Stick close to them and heed their advice.

Good luck, we'll be here (in some form) if you want to come back.

I don't understand. All i can say is that you are EXTREMELY ungrateful for what you have. you dream of riding around Europe, which through your eyes should be the essence of evil considering all the wars and conflicts of ideologies. you dream of playing guitar in the countryside. that is 100% american.
America is one of best, if not the best country to it's citizens. when you're in Europe, travel east, and you'll beg to go back to America. I hope you go crawling back realizing that you have made a huge mistake. think of what you have. maybe you'll get your head straight even before you leave.
There is no place on earth, definitely not Europe that has not defied democracy, or a place that was not offensive to it's locals, or a place where people were mistreated. America is leading the world forward with everything concerning human rights and quality of living.

I'm am most grateful to have one of my two citizenships in America.
Now go stand in the corner and think about what you said.

I appreciate what you are getting at, benevolent, but those things are my premise for why America is crumbling, not the reasons why I'm leaving. Because it was built on a foundation of atrocities it cannot survive. I could be wrong and I hope I am.
That's not why I'm leaving though. I'm leaving becaue I want to go.
So many have died for America. To me the current state of America only shames the ones who died bravely to give us this country.
The ones who are in power in this country make me feel ashamed, but I deal with that.
When I go I will go freely.

well,,,its not perfect here,,,but the USA is awsome,,,

all countries have problems,,,,uk,france,,italy,,etc...

maybe you should tell us what countries are so cozy and perfect???

maybe you should go to Iran or north korea and sing for them,,,

Maybe you should study history more,,,your romance studies seem silly and you going to europe to sing songs and live happily ever after is silly..

I am not bashing your dreams but its the way your thread is stated which is vague and silly to the point of stupidity,,,

Theres people here who cant get their butts here to the US fast enuff and even risk their lives,,,

The other countries have horrible news stories such as ours,,,

maybe instead of a singer you should get a job and work for imigration and council people to convince them not to come here,,,

the world has always been a scary place with so many wronges...yet we could empty the population of many countries if we gave them all visas here,,,

please do tell ,,,,keep us informed on your endevor/quest....

got my fingers crossed for you......

another good title thread would be "ashamed unemployed drummer leaving country"

Well it does seem that by excluding white males from your list they were the only ones enslaved/killed that you didn't seem to have a problem with.
Also, I'm pretty sure you can go to any country and learn about atrocities in it's history.

To be clear, you are trying to escape countries that have no wrongdoings in their past?

America overcame those things man I think you really wanna go so you can jam with these dudes and this outlook is so you can have something to write about.

Tell your troubles and complaints about this great country to the vets and see what they tell you, is it perfect? but it's a hell of alot better then many a places. Oh and by the way white christians were enslaved before the blacks.

[edit on 9-11-2009 by alyosha1981]

WTF are you talking about both of you??? My great great grand mother was a slave, when was the last time you heard of a white slave. In english my grand parents grand parents were slaves....Does that sound like a long time ago to you, not to me when you figure humans are at least 1 million years old. But if you want to compare lets compare.

I'm not trying to get away.
And how many singer/songwriter/guitar players do you know that have money might I ask?
I know many singer songwriter guitarplayers and most of them, like I am, are unfortunately broke.
That often takes place because of many reasons.
Though a tiki hut on the beach of Rio does sound quite cool

Concerning the OP

America was created as an investment in the world, to bring Capitalism and advance society. It made a lot of people VERY rich while allowing a middle class to thrive compared to most people in the entire world.

In my opinion, and I think yours, America has reached its end. America will never be the same and with the trillions of dollars stolen from the Federal Reserve and the same outright given to Elitist companies, we're pretty much going down with the ship. Still, is the right choice to leave?

My wife is from Kenya. I've been there too, to see people striving to live by collecting cow dung and selling it to help make thatch rooves. People die in the street in many countries of this world.

As someone else pointed out - don't burn your bridges. You may have an exceptional ability to help the people of this world by staying here in America. (Plus America NEEDS more artists! We've lost the arts here and we NEED them back!)

Good luck whatever you decide.
