"Naturally the common people don't want war, but after all, it is the leaders of a country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag people along whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship, or a paliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the poeple can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. This is easy. All you have to do is to sell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country."

Venezuela Launches Military Operations on Border to Fight Drug Trafficking and Protect Coltan Reserve

Colombia “Hands Over Its Sovereignty” to U.S. with Military Accord, Says Chavez
Venezuela: Colombians Massacred Near Border Were Paramilitaries

Venezuela to buy Russian arms, tanks: Chavez

VENEZUELA: Bush's next oil war?

The Late Aaron Russo Interview (Listen at the 1:00 [One Minute] Mark.)

So, we have 911, we go into Iraq, Afghanistan, and now most likely Venezuela, Just as described by Mr. Russo in the above interview.

If the Columbian Massacre is a Paramilitary PsyOp or such, and now, using anti-drug rhetoric to defend against illegals, and mentioning the 30+ countries that should support this anti-drug action, is definitely a move to cause a reaction. What will the reaction be? Defend Chavez's actions for fighting drug smuggling, or chastise him as a crazy off the handle dictator?

All this has been in the works long before Chavez even conspired to war or defend or what have you.
It is playing out in perfect harmony with the passing of health care reform, the bankruptcy of CIT which zeros the value of common stock, (the TARP Funds are not going to be repaid, it is a total loss regarding any loans to CIT),
Lets see...What else...oh yes...The Pandemic. I almost forgot. Now, shipments of the vaccine are europe bound from the US who has a shortage and is trying to cause a supply/demand frenzy to get people to take it.
The plague, (possibly weaponised 1918 reactivated and released) which is infecting mass of the populus in the Ukrane, still a mystery and very concerning.
All of this going on, and nobody seems to have a clue.
It's like a horrific fantasy that plays 24/7.

What happened to peace, Love. joy?

"Colombia turns to UN, OAS after Venezuela war talk"

www.reuters.com...

Colombia said on Sunday it will appeal to the U.N. Security Council and the OAS after Hugo Chavez, the fiery leftist president of neighboring Venezuela, ordered his army to prepare for war in order to assure peace.

Chavez is probably talking BS as always. He wouldn't dare go to war, because if the U.S. were involved he would be definitely be taken out of power before the end of such war and he would be tried for all the crimes he has committed during his presidency.

Also I very much doubt that after the attempted coup in 2002 there will be another chance EVER to take out chavez in a similar way. He learned from that mistake. It was the best chance the opposition ever had and they (us) blew it. Now every time there is a protest he just throws around tear gas left and right.

I am Venezuelan.

Well maybe that region has to be secured to house the remaining assets when another "great flood" happens. High ground seems to be the common destination of the elites & their agencies. South America is one of the most fertile places on earth and with a safer elevation should a cataclysm of any natural sort occur.

Malaria? Well there also seems to be an effort to conquer that, too. When you come down from the heights after a "great flood" there will be nothing but flies to greet you, eat you and infect you.

... Just sayin!

Chavez warns of armed conflict with Colombia

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez ordered his military on Sunday to prepare for a possible armed conflict with Colombia while accusing the United States of trying to provoke a war between the South American neighbours.

"The best way to avoid war is preparing for it," Chavez told military officers during his weekly television and radio program.

"The empire is more threatening than ever," he said, referring to the U.S. "Don't make a mistake, Mr. Obama, by ordering an attack against Venezuela by way of Colombia."

Chavez has criticized a recent agreement between the U.S. and Colombia that would give U.S. troops greater access to Colombian military bases, calling it a threat to regional stability.

And what better thing to do, start another war. You have to remember that the U.S is under a covert assault, thats what they want, the destruction of America.

Hopefully this will make it clear to the American people that we do not have an anti-war party. Obama is as much as a warmonger as Bush.

nothing to do with the president, American policies are already written since 5 years ago. If you think President come and change this and this because he is the new elected president your completly wrong.

It is really sad to see and read this. I'm from Venezuela..and it is really sad to see how my country is being destroy by some radical-socialist president. Recently I have the chance to speak with my family about this whole situation and I was told that my family won't be allow anymore to send money or receive money from the U.S. Is very regrettable to see how slowly a nation so rich in oil is destroyed. And even worst is the fact that he wants to go to a war with a powerful nation as the United States. However, it is important to say that Chavez possess strong links with china and iran, this is one thing that everybody is concern about.
A war could exploit in a global conflict because Chavez sells oil at very low prices to these nations, so in that way he can build dangerous friendships. There is a lot of things that people don't know because Chavez controls more than the 95% of the media. I will be more than happy to share that information with you guys.

To clarify U.S. intentions

Date: 24.10.2009

US Oil Espionage in Venezuela

The plans of President Chavez concerning oil remain a US intelligence-gathering priority. US agents in other countries, Colombia in particular, are actively involved in collecting the pertinent information. The territory of Colombia is used by the US for spying on Venezuela's oil-producing provinces, which Washington plans to occupy in the case of an armed conflict between Venezuela and Colombia. The main target of the planned US intervention to be launched from the military bases in Colombia is the Orinoco Belt holding at least 250 000 mln barrels of heavy crude.

A war – or provoking a war – between Venezuela and Colombia is a recurrent theme in the scenarios churned out by the CIA and the Pentagon. There is information that US special forces went on ultra-secret reconnaissance missions under the pretext of searching for FARC bases in Venezuela. In a number of cases the US special forces encountered Venezuelan border guard patrols and opened fire. Deaths of Venezuelan servicemen in such clashes were reported in Zulia, Tachira, Apure, and Amazonas – the regions of Venezuela bordering Colombia.

Bases of AUC (The United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia) are set up in Venezuela's oil-rich provinces in contact with the CIA. The paramilitary groups are destabilizing Venezuela by means of criminal activities, extortions, and kidnappings for ransom. Extremist groups recruiting Venezuelan middle-class youths are being created following a similar pattern. Las Verdades de Miguel weekly says they are trained by CIA instructors in Colombia. Political analysts project that the paramilitary groups will be used to provoke an armed conflict at the border between Venezuela and Colombia, which will serve as a pretext for a Colombian counterstrike and a US intervention, partially with the objective of safeguarding the Venezuelan oil fields.

President H. Chavez and his government stated a number of times that they have reliable information sources in the US Embassy and even the CIA. To an extent, this should guarantee the security of PDVSA. Over the past several months, Venezuela's secret police DISIP and military counterintelligence service have a number of times arrested members of the paramilitary groups and seized their depots of ammunition and lists of potential targets and victims including the current PDVSA executives.

Caracas is fully aware that it must remain alert. Geopolitically, the US has always viewed the oil-rich Venezuela as its own backyard, and B. Obama's Administration is no exception from the rule.

Hugo Chavez says Venezuela ready for war with Colombia

MEXICO CITY, March 9 (RIA Novosti) - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has said the country's armed forces are ready for a war with Colombia should Bogota provoke it.

"In case of a provocation on the part of Colombia's armed forces or infringements on Venezuela's sovereignty, I will give an order to strike with Su aircraft and tanks. I will not let anyone disrespect Venezuela and its sovereignty," Chavez said Sunday on his weekly TV show, "Hello, President."

Chavez said this in response to Colombian Defense Minister Juan Manuel Santos's recent statements, which said that Colombia's military will keep killing rebels from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) on the territory of other states.

Bilateral relations sharply aggravated after Colombia's military bombarded a camp of Colombian rebels in Ecuador in March 2008, killing FARC leader Raul Reyes as well as another 16 rebels.

In response, Chavez ordered the deployment of several thousand soldiers and tanks toward the border with Colombia. Chavez characterized Colombia's actions as violating Ecuador's sovereignty, and called Colombian President Alvaro Uribe "a criminal."

This week, Colombia's National Radio said citing a high-ranking intelligence source that nine people from the FARC General Staff hide in Venezuela and another two in Ecuador. The top management of the staff includes 31 people.

FARC is a Marxist-Leninist guerrilla group established in 1960s. It is considered a terrorist organization by the Colombian government, the U.S. and the EU. The group's revenues are believed to be partly obtained from drug trafficking and kidnapping.

As long as we do not cross the boarder, or throw the first puch, it will pass.

all your government does is punch chavez (even though he's democratically elected).

it sickens me to see people like you, who have no idea of what the US government has done and does in the world, and just how aggressive you foreign policy is, promote war like this.

I dont care what technology a country has, when it comes down to a guerilla war in the jungle, which is what it will end up being, all bets are off.
And if we inflame the situation enough and unify latin america against us, we will end up being slapped.

We made the same "bring it on" statements in afghanistan, but it's been proven that our technology can't do the job. We cant even find the enemy, much less defeat them...hell, we cant even pay them to go away.

Yes, because what America needs to clearly do is attack anyone whom says nonsense...spend billions of dollars everywhere funding wars endlessly because people annoy us.

And to think your not the POTUS yourself, your solutions are elegant and wise...pity all of the real leaders are too busy typing on ATS to run the country..we could have world peace (by of course killing the world) in no time.

And here is Obama not going to war with everyone on the planet earth...what a wimp...Bush had no problem with it..hell, he went to war against people he simply didnt like.

Ahh the golden years of America, the Dubya years...How I miss that xenophobia and ultra blind patriotism.

im confused, why would a country "so rich in oil" need to be recieving money from ur countrymen here in america and why would ur countryman be sending money when they live here?? I think Chavez knows exactly what hes doing, a 3rd war for america, just not sustainable.. it would be unprecedented in american history to be at war with 3 seperate countries who have no affiliation with one another... Venezuela is part of the Iran-Russia-Venezuelan axis... i think a war with venezuela would test that relationship.

I have known people from both Ven and Colom...both were of the female persuasion and my impressions of both of them (fresh off the boat also, no watered down American version) is that they were clever and humble people...

and they simply make women differently there in latin america...they are stunning to look at. I reckon the men have redeeming value also but havent noticed them in as much detail as I erm...studied the women.

It occured to me that, here were people from different philosophies, different backrounds, but we were getting along completely fine. person to person, these pretend differences our government propagates simply dont exist. Do people think differently? sure...and its almost superficial when your talking on a personal level, yet whenever old people in suits start talking about differences...shortly after that discussion, they start talking about bombs and mass murdering the weird people of X.

War is gay.

You know it's getting to the point where the threats of war/terrorism are so abundent (more so than ever before) that one does not know what to believe in. I know I do not stand alone when I say that it is confusing the people of not just the US, but of the people all around the world, on what is actually occuring and will occur sooner than later.

War is eminent, no matter which way you look at the world. When is it going to occur? I don't know personally, but I'm sure TPTB have a clue since they are mostly behind just about everything, including war propaganda. Hopefully Chavez is not going to pull his people into an unwinable war. Either way things go, many lives will be lost, and that is the last thing we want to see. However, I do agree that sometimes to prove a point one most hit them where it hurts... but leave civilians out of all this... wont happen though.
