Of course my voice is one sided. When you decide that something is right then there is no other path. I am one person and these are my thoughts. I feel you are still buying into duality though. Read all my posts. Duality is another of our burdens. So is culture. How many scientitists died for their theories? Get over it and look farther. Try to understand.

I have tried many paths. I have seen too much to say that this is wrong. The path of peaceful resistance is not one that everyone will like. They will be ruled by their emotions. It is however the most effective. If enough of us banded together to make this world the way we wanted peacefully then the world could change. Everything could change if people understood each other and left the duality behind.

This does not mean that we can't overcome emotions. We can band together and find a solution that works for everyone. We are all looking for something. We are all looking for the same thing. What I am saying is PART and only a part of a solution. I believe that in my heart and soul.

I truly believe that if we all tried to talk to one another we could come to a solution that would make everyone happy.

I don't know what we are looking for. As you said I am a bit one sided. I have done both sides, but I cannot talk for everyone. I know it sounds liberal. But isn't change what we wanted? Well, it wasn't obama's change we wanted....so what do we want, and how do we get there? Lets get there ourselves.

We will never become a great species unless we reconcile our petty differences. We need to overcome them and become great. Peace and love. Truely really. Read between the lines.

Like I said it takes one person to change things for the better. Politicians are crap. They don't change a thing. It depends on the citizens. I may not accomplish a thing with this thread, but I will keep it alive as long as possible until it dies. I cannot help it. Read your history. Change/advancement comes from unexpected places. Why not? Waste of time? Maybe. Maybe I will change a few other minds and they will do something greater.

Wouldn't that be great?

If everyone stopped working at the same time and demanded something from the government, don’t you think they would oblige?

No.

Simply put, once elected, politicians can do, will do, and have done anything their hearts (and/or wallets) have desired.

They don't care what we think until it comes to election time. Then, as sure as seasons change, everyone goes into stupidity mode, forgetting the least X number of years, what happened, and why it happened, and start drooling all over themselves again.

It'll never change.

How many times have you been arrested for peacefully resisting? If even once, have you made sure that it was covered in the media? Have you actually done anything besides talk about it? I realize that this may sound rude and I'm not trying to be rude (I apologize for that), but you talk about peaceful action yet you don't say that you've taken any action yourself. Begging others to make your dream come true seems very disingenuous unless you can speak from experience.

It's your dream, why haven't you done anything about it? THAT is what Gandhi was about and THAT is what adult responsibility is all about. Leading by example no matter what the consequences - not begging others to join you before you can start. It doesn't take a group to perform peaceful resistance - it only takes an individual.

It is a simple answer to a simple question. The answer is Gandhi-peaceful resistance. As for now, everyone is getting out of control, and we are full of anger. Anger only brings more anger. Stop this cycle of hate. I beg of everyone. Grow up, and do things that you aren’t supposed to. Just because someone says you can’t do something or you have to do something doesn’t matter. If we are free then live free! Do what you always wanted (but remember treat others how you want to be treated).

Hmmm... In order to obtain freedom, you have to be willing to die for freedom. If you think waving the white flag will help you, I beg to differ in your present take of reality. While you wave the white flag of surrender, your enemies will not hesitate to remove you from the chess board. We don't live in a Utopian society.

Your whole post is about accepting complacency. When you embrace your enemy with a hug, don't be surprised when he detonates a bomb.

Complacency is death.

When the whole country says we want something a certain way or we wont work, then how can they drop a bomb? The military "employees" say the same thing...and they say we wont do it to our own people. The whole thing collapses without us. Stop forgetting that we don't have power. If we did a peaceful resistance to change things and they dropped a bomb it would just add more people to the cause. Don't fool yourself on this. It can and will do great things. I promise you that. I may not be the person to change things to the way I talk/preach/however you want to say it. But one day, these things will happen. Things will become great because of the will of the people. It will not be a bill passed saying you have to step up. It will be something that is passed that is wrong. So wrong we cannot ignore it anymore. We will step up and kick some ass. I promise you.

Things will be great. Things will be terrible. Before it gets great however there will be US. We will change it. We will make it great.

Great post! Rock on! Anyone who advocates violence is seriously deluded. Violence begets more violence. Love, is the only answer. Tough love for the tough, sweet love for the sweet. Gandhi's way is the only way. We must free ourselves from this illusion.

Part of it has to do with FEAR. Many types of fear are used to control people. Even those who think of themselves as not afraid, are more scared than they will admit. How many have looked death in the eye and laughed?? Ghandi did this, besacue he was not affraid of death, or what ever consequence awaited him. Immature people with the mind of a 14-16 year old do fear death. They have a vague idea of what it is, but few have evet encountered it. And those how have seen death upclose and personal are a different breed of human being. I am more free becasue I do not fear death. I have been hit by a bus, car accidents, motorcycle accidents, shot, stabbed and electrocuted. i have no fear of death, if dying free is my fate I have no fear of that.

I pity those who fold in a second when pain or fear of death is forced on them. These are the people who put on the facade of being tough or not scared. These are from my observation the biggest cowards. Whether it be peaceful of violent what ever uprising that takes place will be when enough people have lost all fear of death. The last thing you can lose is your life. When you create a situtatiion where you have nothing left to lose... This is when you meet truly dangerous people. These events in my life have allowed me to do things one person has trouble doing in one lifetime. If I were to die at this second I would not feel unfullfilled. I feel deep comiseration for people who have done nothing with their lives, who are content to living in thier metal coffins sitting on the freeways wasting their lives one minute at a time. Like drone ants who build a huge nest, but have no purpose other than slave labor. We are energy that has been manifested into physical form, and we as a people are wasting the experience.

Maybe you have heard the claim "High school is the best time of your life"... I feel people who believe this have given up on life before they have even experienced it. According to those who spew that nonsense the day you graduate your life will never be any better. This has somehting to do with people needing to grow up. Take for intance, I was mocked once for not acting as if high school had never ended. As if life is a continuation of high school. And as the world starts to crumble faster and faster everyday, their tiny world is getting smaller and smaller. For some the only life they know is working five days a weeks followed by two days of alcohol consumption followed by a hangover on sunday and the cycle begins all over again. Taking photos of strangers and burried in thier text messages while life and the owrld turns around them. The photos are posted on Monday on FAKEBOOK of MYFACE of all your new "best friends". Life has been turned into a perpetual state of high school, the sad part is becasue for some this WAS the best time of thier lives.... this is all they know. I was once at a Pow Wow in North Dakota... this is when all of this hit me like a rock to the dome. I saw all kinds of other dudes wearing thier high school letter man jackets from the same year I graduated. The only problem I had been out of high school for 5 years. And all the "little girls" were eating it up...it was really sad.

Another good question is.... why to GIRLS get to age 50 before they realize they aren't girls anymore, some are even grandma's and still havent gotten it through yet??? Or the 30-something woman with no kids will get with anything inorder to procreate? Like they had done all the years before to avoid derailing her career, she now rushes in a futile attmep to become an adult. Usually way to late to do so.

The only thing needed to change the world is a few well placed shots. If the power hungry elites didn't exist, then we wouldn't have to worry about anything. Kinda like the health-care thing that's starting to pass. The majority of the country don't want it, but the power hungry know-what's-best-for-all ain't listening. If they weren't here to raise taxes and continue to further enslave us, then we would truly be free. This whole voting thing is just a game, it doesn't exist, it's just there to make us think we're doing something. So do something. Our forefathers didn't take no for an answer when the British decided they wanted to continue tyranny. WHY SHOULD WE?

Can't we do things without violence and death? I know we can. It is just more work for us. No one wants to go outside their bubbles.

As for voting the internet is a great tool. We could easily have a poplar vote using it. Screw congress/the senate. We don't needc them anymore! We have enough tech that we can all comunicate. Why let a select few decide our futures? It seems a bit archaic. It will change. It will become fair. I have no doubt in my mind that it will be that way, but I am tired of waiting with all this drama. Lets get the ball rolling.

As for the British, well the colonists originally got sparked by taxes. Look at all of the unconstitutional taxes we have now. We are the real men and women that will stand up against this?

Once again, one sided idealism strikes a blow for ........ one sided idealism.

Simple pacifism is not a solution. It is just as mindless as the hate and violence you speak out against.

Without balance we cannot succeed.

Balance is essential, however, the world is not in balance right now (this is quite evident). Your version of one-sided idealism and how you choose to view this thread is not necessarily the way that others view it who have seen the potential for something better. If this is a good system to you, then I personally don't see any reason for you to alter your behavior, however, I see plenty of malfunctions that are becoming more blatant by the day.

Idealism has brought about serious positive change in this country and many others that have had powerful lasting affects in policy and law which has benefited the masses as a whole. However, I cannot think of a single time armed conflict on American soil has brought about stable resolutions with the exception of the Civil War. In this country, collective pacifistic movements have been far more effective in creating positive change than collective manifestations of fear (911, Waco Texas, Ruby Ridge, the recent debacle in Texas, etc) Fear is a very divisive tool that can be used to control the most basic functions that entail survival. Look beyond fear and you have clarity and stability. This is the goal.

Did Martin Luther King Jr. bring about lasting changes? As far as the system as a whole, yes (isn't that what we were looking for? Systemic change?) Racism may still exist, but it is not the practice of our civilization as a whole.

The balance that you speak of usually ends with the loss of lives and the destruction of families, friends, neighbors and relatives...otherwise the decimation of positivity. Every ripple that gets sent out, whether positive or negative, affects the system as a whole and reverberates through the mainframe of the collective consciousness. In fact, one could consider it Universal as opposed to merely systemic. We've tried the opposite of peace over and over without any positive results. The definition of madness/insanity is repeating an act over and over while hoping or expecting different results. Since we've tried that method and have not achieved a higher level, lets try the peace route and see what can be accomplished.

A nation built on fear is one of weakness and uncertainty. Isn't that what is currently happening now?

Actually once. It was an illegal search/sesuire. Drug related. $2000 in legal fees later I was free. But how many drug arrests aren't a form of peaceful resistance? We are saying that we will do what we want with our own bodies and screw you for telling me what to do. Not to be mean. It is a bad rabbit hole to go down. Some people can't control themselves. My judge was known in this town for a hit and run on booze and coke.....but hes a judge. His son is a pot dealer. Well thats fair for them handing drug charges eh? I have my bachelors and am trying to get into dental school. Wednesday will be my third interview in 3 years at the same school. My dad was a dentists...he grew pot. Stop telling people what to do. Stop forcing things down their throats. Some people can do great things and accomplish much. Drugs is not my tangent however. My tangent is the way this world and this government are. People need to see past everything we gossip about and do something.

Drugs are pointless in the end however. They are just a tool. they are a tool for the inactive. I know I have not done enough to change things in this world, but deep down I want to. I want thing to be better. I know where we need to go. If I had support in my thoughts it would be a breakthrough for me. Without support a thought is worthless. One person screaming wont change a thing. I need to find people out there that still care. It is so hard though.

Everyone is just interested in new things to buy and gossip. How can I do anything when most people are stuck in their dog houses?

As for Gandhi he didn't start anything until he was older (i think his 40's). Before that he was a very successful/rich lawyer. Change comes from the strangest places.

As for doing something....I educate everyone willing to listen. Taxes are unconstitutional is my biggest seller, but almost no one cares to listen. I need to find people that care.

It is hard to change the world when no one cares...

I am not mocking or patronizing. Why all the humor and negativity? Can't we talk about how we can change things? Be constructive?

By dad was a mason and my mom was an eastern star. No big secrets there.

Edit-corrected your spelling. I was very upset by your post and had to come back to it. Just because someone is opening their heart on a forum does not mean you have to bash them. Why can't you try to relate to me? You don't want to relate? Then don't post anything. It is pretty simple. Go play WOW, f your dog, rub one out, kill people, or whatever you do. I don't want to be mean but I want to be treated with respect. Treat me with respect and I'll return the favor.

Anger leads to more anger. Anger comes from fear. That leads to hate. Please let this stop here. I want an conversation. I do not want an argument or a debate. I do not want hate and fear. We are beyond that.

They are not childish. Children have great ideas but then they forget them or are to afraid to speak up. Truth will set you free, but you can't be free in this world even if you know truth. Things need to change first.
