so, i could be arrested now...swell! whording up all of us will further bankrupt states maybe in doing so, the fed will be forced ot take back the bailout money they shelled out, jsut ot pay off the masses without health insurance now

The devil is in the details. Nothing any gov't tries to do "for the People" is ever intended to benefit them so the question is WHY are they doing this. Forget about whether you like national healthcare or not one thing must always be understood...

Your gov't does not care about your wellbeing at all so why do they want you to have healthcare?

That, my friend, will be taken care of peacefully at the ballot box beginning tonight. There will be such a backlash against these mindless liberals! They should have seen it coming but didn't. They had no mandate other than a pop culture, smooth talking black president talking change that only won by 7 points against a weak opponent.

Recapturing the House and Senate after tonight will be swift and easy! The difficulty will be repairing the damage done to the country socially and economically due to entitlements, run away spending, debt, unemployment and corruption that this last year has brought upon us!

Don't fall into the republican vs. democrat mumbo jumbo. That is exactly what they want...these actors put on a show today with the 1 republican vote so that the republicans can blame the dems. Just like the democrats blamed the repubs for the war stuff...it's a cycle that is repeating and only like 2 percent get it...just crazy. This kind of stuff happening on the weekend after the Texas military shootings too? On a Saturday?

As for solutions... I would say revolution, but if we do...then that is what they have already planned...

All I know is that we are very close to loosing any health care insurance coverage and without it, you will become closer to your friend mao than you might like.

I would prefer to keep my coverage through my employer without loosing everything and that might become a reality all because some hick somewheres can't see past next week and thinks he's above all dat.

I heard that they have a provision where the govt. will have access to your bank account. I got a strange feeling that They will increase our taxes to pay for this monster. Here's something they could do and not have to make a new system, give everybody that don't have insurance the ability to get medicare and medicade, and the govt. fully fund.

THIS IS HISTORY IN THE MAKING.

I'm so proud to be part of it.

Just to reiterate, here's what's new (and reduced to layman terms in case u don't want to read 2000 pages):

1) 96% of Americans will now have coverage in one way or the other. If these 96% cannot afford coverage, an application to federal subsidies would grant households the ability to buy insurance.

2) All big firms and employers above a certain amount of revenue per annum are now required to provide medical coverage for ALL employees, or face government hell.

3) Insurance companies now cannot charge higher premiums based on sex or medical history.

4) Insurance companies cannot FIX prices, that is, they cannot charge at a higher price to earn profits and cause other companies to follow suit (a trait of oligopolies). The prices now have to follow the market pricing, which is closer to perfect market.

5) Consumers now CHOOSE insurance, not the companies CHOOSING consumers. I love this - higher level of information which grants consumers the rightful power.

6) The government WILL provide insurance in cases of consumers who cannot find the right insurance to cover his or her 'issues', but these premiums will be, aptly, charged higher than private firms.

7) THE BEST: Insurance firms cannot now get out of paying out just because of "previously-undisclosed medical histories". THAT IS A RELIEF. You know sometimes these firms try to weasel out of paying despite all the money we've given them each month.

I'm very happy.

On top of it, for all you Republicans, abortions are NOT covered by government subsidies. In other words, if you want abortions, your insurance firm either has to already have preexisting coverage for such operations, or you'll have to pay for it out of your own pocket.

Hey ideas are greats but lets think this one out...They're already bankrupt and who would pay for it if its free thus further bankrupting it. How about those who have employer provided HC that's part of their paycheck? Those folks are now working for their HC and someone elses. That's the definition of Marxisim. We're capitalists, until today I think we're on our way to Socialism.

You say that now. Wait until one day, you have a serious accident, or have an operation, or even something as simple as THE FLU, and watch as the medical institutions around you start OVERCHARGING, and you can't pay.

You're all so typical. You don't understand what this law means before you start shooting your mouth off. This law also prevents firms from OVERCHARGING you. So all that talk about saving your taxes? You wanting more disposable income? how about starting with recognizing that you're not going to OVERPAY anymore?

Page 42 of HC Bill: The Health Choices Commissioner will choose your HC Benefits for you. You have no choice!

Page 50 Section 152 in HC bill: HC will be provided to ALL non US citizens, illegal or otherwise

Page 58 HC Bill: Govt will have real-time access to individuals finances & a National ID Healthcard will be issued!

Page 59 HC Bill lines 21-24: Govt will have direct access to you ur banks accounts for elective funds transfer.

Page 65 Sec 164: is a payoff subsidized plan for retirees and their families in Unions & community organizations: (ACORN).

Page 84 Sec 203 HC bill: Govt mandates ALL benefit packages for private HC plans in the Exchange.

Page 85 Line 7 HC Bill: Specifications for of Benefit Levels for Plans = The Govt will ration your Healthcare!

Page 91 Lines 4-7 HC Bill: Govt mandates linguistic appropriate services. Example – Translation: illegal aliens.

Page 95 HC Bill Lines 8-18: The Govt will use groups i.e., ACORN & Americorps to sign up individuals for Govt HC plan.

Page 85 Line 7 HC Bill: Specifications of Benefit Levels for Plans. AARP members – your Health care WILL be rationed.

Page 317 L 13-20: PROHIBITION on ownership/investment. Govt tells Doctors what/how much they can own!

Page 317-318 lines 21-25, 1-3: PROHIBITION on expansion- Govt is mandating hospitals cannot expand.

Page 321 2-13: Hospitals have opportunity to apply for exception BUT community input is required. Can u say ACORN?!!

Page 335 L 16-25 Pg 336-339: Govt mandates establishment of outcome based measures. HC the way they want. Rationing.

Page 469: Community Based Home Medical Services = Non-profit organizations. Hello, ACORN Medical Services here!!?

Page 472 Lines 14-17: PAYMENT TO COMMUNITY-BASED ORIGINATION. 1 monthly payment 2 a community-based organization. Like ACORN?

Page 489 Sec 1308: The Govt will cover Marriage & Family therapy. Which means they will insert Govt into your marriage.
Page 494-498: Govt will cover Mental Health Services including defining, creating, rationing those services.

Senator, I guarantee that I personally will do everything possible to inform patients and my fellow physicians about the dangers of the proposed bills you and your colleagues are debating.

Furthermore, If you vote for a bill that enforces socialized medicine on the country and destroys the doctor/patient relationship, I will do everything in my power to make sure you lose your job in the next election.

Higher taxes is one thing.

But read closer into this law before you start shooting your mouth off. The government-funded insurance, i.e. the public option, has higher starting premiums than private firms. I.e. if you WANT the public option you have to PAY for it. Thus the high taxes only go toward paying for the federal subsidies, which, if you had any ounces of goodwill in you, would realize that would help all the poor people in the poorer parts of the country to afford medical help and medicine they otherwise would be unable to afford, i.e. they will LIVE instead of DYING.

You know all that Christian goodwill that's being quoted in church? Let's start with SEEING the good in things first, how about that.
