Japanese fishing trawler sunk by giant jellyfish

Topic started on 6-11-2009 @ 01:59 AM by dodadoom

Not sure where this should go.
Mods if this needs moved, please do! Thanks!

Did anyone see this? Wow!
Maybe this is what people in the old days thought was a sea monster!
It's big enough to be considered one!
It sunk a ship? Holy moly!
Thanks to survivalacres for sending me this!

Aww, how disappointing. Here I thought the jellyfish sunk the boat, when it was really the boat's crew who capsized it while trying to haul in a net with too many jellyfish in it. Not nearly as exciting.

Ooops!
I saw that too. After I posted it!
I first thought it was one giant jellyfish too!

It should read, trawler sunk by it's stupid greedy occupants!
My bad.
No wonder I never post this kinda stuff!
I think I'll stick to 'deeper' subjects!

Edit, I better go to bed and rest my eyes.

Right, it was the weight of too many jellyfish in the net.

However, there is the giant squid which has been known to take hold of ships, and occasionally capsize them. These squids also grab hold of whales and try to drag them down, drown them, and eat them. The whales, naturally, object to this, and do what they can to eat the squid. But anything that thinks it can take on a whale is probably too big for me to fight...
