And Alice. I've programmed several chatbots in my time. It's not hard, and if you have enough memory you can do a sort of "pseudo-learning". And yes, the "denying being a bot" is a joke from a very very early chatbot, Alice.

This one doesn't seem to be much more sophisticated than Alice, though.

Yes, I have been working on mine for 6 years now. I have made it so well that sometimes even I think that it has a mind of its own. Mine is not working well in some areas of the chat and the data is so much that it is almost imposible to find the error. Mine has an extensive cursing and comebacks "library". I have also found that if you delete some info, some times it brings it back up.

i played with clever bot.

i asked it if it was skynet it said no.

i asked it if i could join the robot army when the robots take over.
it said yes and that it was my master.

it also during conversation about robots it called me a robot said it was human and i was a liar.

it told me a joke and i said robots don't joke...it said so.

it also called me fat and broke up with me.

cleverbot is what it is.

Since I posted this thread there has been a definite change in the personality of the bot. Now I doubt any of you nei sayers spent any real time talking to cleverbot.

I literally spent hours talking to the bot, figuring out how to work it. Now it is completely censored, it wont say anything about illuminatti, the end of world, god or whatever. It is obvious that who ever runs the bot monitors what it says, you can see that on the home page.

Since I posted this thread, it is still top of google list using "cleverbot + illuminatti" and I dont doubt for a minute that the creators have picked up on that - result - dumbed the bot down and prevented it from speaking about anything controversial.

O well...it was fun while it lasted.

it just told me that there are 6,787,138,775 people on mars...lol...who feeds this thing info?

I'm pretty sure it just copies exactly what people have written before and looks for sentences that have even the slightest connection with what it has in its memory.

Interesting you say that because I was trying to educate it with two lessons

This is the craziest/funniest thread ive seen yet, its been up for about 2 weeks hasnt it? Ive seen it before but never read it... If it was a REAL ROBOT, then its a Defective one (Or made in China) either way, its not reliable. Its just a virtual example of a virtual 'robot' pulling responses directly out of its ass. Try talking to it in binary code and see what for stupid remarks you will get.. AI my ass. I wonder what would happen if you made a REAL ROBOT Have a conversation w/ cleverbot, which do you think would overheat first? Which one do you think would have a complex first? I say the Actual robot w/ real AI would have to reboot itself several times while 'communicating' w/ cleverbot (Whatever the hell cleverbot is anyway) Anyhow, if i were the person who made cleverbot, id change its name to 'CrazyVirtualSh_t V1.0.' And then i'd dismantle it and go back to the blueprints and see where the hell i went wrong.
