Many recent earthquakes may have been the aftershocks of large quakes that occurred hundreds of years ago, according to scientists

They found that, away from plate boundaries, echoes of past earthquakes can continue for several hundred years

what an interesting piece of news. certainly something most of us have never even thought of when it comes to todays big quakes.

it would be a very interesting project to actually map the big earthquakes from the past against those of today and see if there is any kind of pattern here.

This could be used as some kind of prediction even.

Even after years and years of study by scientists. they still find new explanations and ideas.
