Largest retirees’ group backs House health bill

Every time a person purchases one of the Car, Health or Life Insurance
plans through AARP, the AARP organization is paid anywhere from 15%
to 90% of the monthly premium...month after month, by the insurance
company you bought the policy from. AARP is essentially a sales
entity that earns commissions on what its members purchase. If they
were a public company and the executive pay were available, the
public would be shocked by the figures.

Old people know they cannot currently afford healthcare. They want reform more than any other group out there.

All I've heard from the left, for the past 6 months, is how much the elderly love their Medicare, supposedly offered as proof of the ability of the government to run health care.

If they are satisfied with Medicare, why would they want reform? If they "want reform more than any other group out there", they must not be satisfied with Medicare. Can't have it both ways.

True, but they administer Medicare according to the laws, rules, policies and regulations of the government. They are just a contractor acting at the direction of a Washington bureaucrat.
