Well I don't want to get into bashing or counter bashing.

Look, Bush said he was a compassionate conservative, a misnomer for really being a liberal republican. His policies encouraging the FED to keep interest rates low, along with congress's emphatic approval, lead to the housing bubble. The expenses of this plus the wars plus expanding medicare created a trillion dollar deficit. The villain here is bad policy and spending.

If Saddam Hussein had said to the US what he told prison authorities, that he pretended to have WMDs to keep Iran at bay, the Iraq war may have never happened. Too bad the CIA couldn't figure this out.

The bad policy and spending continues under Obama to the tune of 9 trillion in deficit spending, and adding a trillion for health care makes it worse. The government has acquired a really bad habit of accepting moral hazard, that is they are willing to bail out every bad decision made by anyone, this liability along with obligations of medicare and social security get into the neighborhood of 50 trillion dollars more.

Now if the intent of Obama is to destroy capitalism, he has succeeded. Too bad,because capitalism in an unabridged form is about the only thing that could turn things around. I don't see how his policies and spending are going to have a happy ending.

As far as I can tell one half of the population wants a Eco Utopian society at any cost and the other prefers the free market and capitalism. I predict with almost 60 trillion and god knows how much foreign debt to be repaid by taxation, most of us will become slaves to the government for the rest of our lives. I predict the standard of living you are accustomed to will disappear as you know it.

For me I prefer freedom, the free market and capitalism, which does self correct itself, to big huge government which no longer self corrects itself.

I have to ask, why is this thread featured on the home page? The OP seems nothing more than a self serving diatribe designed simply to ellicite attention. Obviously, there's nothing "top secret" about that.

As long as we have free speech, the OP has every right to make this thread and state his opinions. It is always interesting to see two sides of a story. You learn more that way. Personally, I am glad there are people who are not intimidated by others and say what they really think and feel.

We are living in difficult times and people are frustrated, frightened, and angry. It's good to get things out. Starred and flagged.

Did you see thru Bush (any Bush, really) to the same degree and get the same icky feelings when that fake cracker (just a good oll' boy that bought hisself into Yale) had his mug on t.v.? Bush or Obama, they're both owned by the same crowd. Notice how nothing has really changed? I read an article today that claimed that hundreds of lobbyists were quitting. The writer explained the exodus as being the result of Obama's fierce assault on the lobbys. What assault? More likely they're leaving for cushy jobs on Wall Street since there's nothing left to do in Washingrton. The big corp.s own it lock, stock and filthy lying barrel. Why would companies need to lobby when they own the government outright? Screw Nostradamus. He was just a pretender. The REAL DEAL prophet and seer was George Orwell. He nailed the future of this country right on the head.

You have every right to your opinion. I don't agree with it, but you have every right to it.

I believe in judging this man by what he does or does not do for the country. When he does good things for the country I will support him. When he screws up I will not support him.

To me its what he does rather than who he is.

10 months, he has been in office 10 months now. Frankly he hasn't been in office long enough to do much of anything.

Which is bad. I don't like that he hasn't done much of anything.

But to say that you change the channel whenever he comes on because the sight of him makes you sick. Well that speaks volumes.

I find the ops a product of a backwoods education system brainwashed by fox news and AM radio stations.

Luckily they are an aging and dying breed. Give it 10 more years and such mindsets will have gone the way of the whigs.

Becoming a waning voice in society from ancient viewpoints can make a person angry and even violent, which serves in only quickening their pace towards oblivion.

There will always be people choosing to live in caves, no matter how far society advances.

Now if only we could get the mainstreet media to admitt what they really want to say

"As long as we have Free Speech"??? WE'RE ALWAYS SUPPOSED TO HAVE IT! The Constitution lists it as one of the "INALIENABLE" rights that ALL men are supposed to possess. By saying "as long as we have.." you unwittingly grant some entity or corporation the power to deny you that inalienable right. You should not be so willing to relinquish something that is your birthright as an equal and independent human soul.
