Well, here's our Lord & Saviour ... (Lady & Saviour ?)



Jo Clifford, a M>F transsexual, is both playwright & performer. The play is merely an expression of her own faith, nothing more, it's not about portraying Jesus as a pervert or using this unorthodox presentation to garner the headlines. I do wish people would understand that Jesus wasn't just looking out for Mr. Mrs White Anglo Saxon Protestants, he was looking out for all of us, good, bad, black, white, straight, gay ... and transgendered too.

And with all respect to the demonstrators, they're a pretty rum lot from the Zion Baptist Church, founded by the late and most certainly unlamented Pastor Jack Glass. Remember Pastor Jack, anyone ? He who stood in a Westminster election under the ticket of "Protestant Crusade Against The Papal Visit", the same Pastor Jack who demonstrated when Pope John Paul II made the first ever papal visit to Scotland in 1982.

Heck, even the Reverend Ian Paisley described Pastor Jack as being "a bit of an extremist" ... so that gives you a measure of the man & his followers.

Anyway, back to the play ... this is what it's about ... what's so objectionable ??

Jesus is a transsexual woman. And it is now she walks the earth. This is a play with music that presents her sayings, her miracles, and her testimony. And she does not condemn the gays or the queers or the trans women or the trans men, and no, not the straight women nor the straight men neither. Because she is the Daughter of God, most certainly, and almost as certainly the son also. And God’s child condemns nobody. She can only love...

Jesus... I thought we covered this. The OP mentioned "freedom of expression". Do you see how that might relate to our Constitution?

Well-said! And this play isn't even "bashing" Christians. It's just a fantasy about what Jesus could have been like. It's a different take on the man (or woman). It's not bashing Christians, but they just can't take it.

That sounds a lot more like the real Jesus was. I wish people of religion would try to remember that. Their earthly religion, made by man, has become much more important than the teachings of Jesus... Sad...

Well I don't have anything against transsexuals, gays, or cross dresser, find them fascinating actually, considering in many ancient cultures they were often holy men and shaman.

Here is my opinion, which has been stated already. By the way this was pretty much addressing anyone that this fits. Your ego led you to believe that it applied to you and you alone.

Just because you can do something doesn't mean its right for you to. The only reason you see it as a perfect valid form of expression is because you are not a christian. Therfor your opinion means nothing as you are biased on the subject. This is nothing more then a kick between the legs of all christians.

Ohhhh, this is great stuff!
