Oh I know everything I need to know about you anne and I have been given that information from your most ardent supporter, someone even you will have to agree is correct about everything I know about you. Someone whom I would have to say, is your favorite loved one

I hope all the gays laugh at the people who do not want them to have equal rights when those peoples rights are taken away.
What comes around, goes around.

PS: I am a Claifornian. Liberal as the day is long.

Great Cindy. I am social liberal - meaning that I support Full Equal Rights for everyone.

I have been listening to Out-Q radio on XM - to educate myself - and get perspective on gay activism through legal means.

I am admiring their patients and fortitude - trying to work within the system.

To me this is the same thing as letting voters determine rights by race.

Equal rights took a long time for black people and it will take a long time for gay people too.

Gay people will be treated better in the future, it is just a matter of time.

Well, I guess that pretty much sums up where your mind is at.

You consider people who are gay to be worse than murderers, rapists and pedophiles do you? And for what reason? What exactly does being gay mean to you that every single one of them is worse than a murderer?

Is there any reason in the world that an opinion as warped as yours deserve anything but scorn?

I surely don't think so. Its beyond laughable.

Yes - they are frustrated.

But they know winning the "long" fight is better and more permanent.

The truth is always hate to those that hate the truth my friend and I consider all those you mention as depraved and debased sexually if they are gay murderers or rapists but since pedophiles only refer to heterosexual sex I would say pedasterists and pedastery to is also depraved and debased. Anyone who sees it as a virtue is most likely sick in the head. You got a problem with that

Ha ha ha yeah like the oppression you poor gays are under is anywhere near that of blacks. No wonder the black vote was so powerful when gays lost in Calif during the prop 8 vote. My my lets all get out our tiny violins for these poor victims and their pathetically asserted dictums.

You got to prove it before you can claim it and as long as I have been on this thread, I haven't seen an argument yet that can be corroborated with said oppression anywhere in the 14th amendment. All I have seen is a complete and total misunderstanding of John Binghams original intent when he wrote it. One he had to explain a dozen times to congress has nothing to do with Government entitlements but everything to do with due process and i don't see gays getting more or less of that than anyone else

Isn't that the truth. Black people were made to be slaves and then even after slavery they were abused and mistreated. Now you have the homosexuals trying to tie their horse to that wagon. Like it even compares. Let's see... Can't get married vs. My babies were taken and sold like puppies to be slaves. But I guess we should give them bonus points for adding drama to their cause.

If we were only looking at the laws of nature, then marriage as an institution would not exist. Modern psychological studies tell us that permanent monogamy is not what we were built for.
The Monogamy Hoax

Marriage as a legal entity isn't about procreation at all. It is primarily about the control of property.

According to the laws of nature the structure of the family became corrupted the moment someone said "til death do you part".

As for marriage being essential to the continuation of the human species - that is not now and has never been the case. Even back in the somewhat puritanical 1950's, how many babies were born 6 months after the wedding?

Well if we were loookng just at nature then we would realize that homosexuality is merely caused by a chemical/hormonal imbalance or a defect in the brain due to a lack of the mothers hormones when the child is in the womb. Good news is scientists are close to a cure.

I have read all of your posts on this thread and must say that indeed the removal of any special legal status for marriage is the most effective and complete way to ensure that all people have "equal rights" in regards to marriage. That is somewhat of a radical step though, don't you think? The legal ramifications of throwing out and reshaping all the inheritance, divorce, and tax laws alone would be enough to keep the various and sundry legislative bodies of the country busy for the next couple of centuries.

For that reason, if no other, it is unreasonable to expect that marriage as a legal entity is going to go anywhere any time soon.

Your argument that marriage imports a special status on those lucky enough to be eligible for it is correct. Since this is true - is it so terrible then to expand the pool of citizens who are entitled to participate in this institution, with all the benefits and privileges it provides?

You keep saying that this or that social benefit (e.g. adoption) isn't a "right". Equal protection under the law IS a right though and this is the situation that gay marriage proponents are trying to ensure. In a similar reasoning to the civil rights cases of an earlier generation - the court then found that "separate but equal" isn't really equal. Claiming that some form of civil union is just as good as marriage is automatically claiming that it isn't marriage, and is therefore inherently unequal. Even as a simple mathematical concept - when two things are truly equal you cannot tell them apart.

What part of your world comes crashing down if some justice of the peace somewhere pronounces someone "man and husband"?

Obviously the inequality is not at the same level, but inequality is inequality.

Sexuality is just another variable, just like skin color. Hating people for their natural condition is wrong.

The delusional idea that people choose who they are sexually attracted to is ignorance.

Also, I'm not gay...homophobes on the other hand...well that is a different story...

When will the never ending attempts to convince those aganst the gay agenda that they too are gay end? That is just lame.

Is there anything homosexuals won't believe as long as it makes them out to be accepted, equal, and feel normal?

Truth is most men could get aroused watching two cows screw in a field, but it doesn't mean we want to screw a cow.

Oh wonderful. That's just what we need.....another "cure" from the pharmaceutical industry. Just like the "cure" for rambunctious and active children bored to death by a repressive educational system is to give them drugs to screw with their brains and thereby make them more manageable. The "cure" for people unhappy at living in whatever miserable situation life his given them is to call them "depressed" and give them drugs to screw with their brain chemistry and make them "feel better", while doing nothing about the source of their unhappiness at all.

Claiming that homosexuality is a disease that can and should be "cured" is antithetical to the argument that it is only a "lifestyle preference". If it is truly a disease, then why in the world would we penalize sufferers of this disease by denying them the same societal benefits available to those who do not suffer from it?

Well the reason is that since it is due to a chemical imbalance why should we change the laws to suit the needs of a group of people who could one day be fixed by getting their brain chemicals in balance.

Truth is within a few years parents will be able to decide to treat the mother with hormones to prevent them from having a child that may become homosexual. This is no different or less loving than a family who could fix down syndrome in the womb choosing to take advantage of the cure so that there child could have a more normal human experience.

The ethical implications of such a pursuit of perfection in the human species are massive. In the early part of the 20th century there was a massive attempt to perfect humanity......it was called the Master Race and we quite correctly fought the greatest of all wars to put an end to such an abomination.

Oh cmon.. That is not the same. We are not making everyone with the same eye or hair color or race.

It would just be givng parents an opportunity to help their children overcome certain birth defects before birth.

It would not be forced by the government. It would be up to the parents free will. Plus, you have to admit that gays alwasys say it was from birth because they wouldn't have chose to be gay. So now they won't have to be unless their parents want them to be.
