I actually predicted two years ago "V" would make a comeback. A simple Hollywood trick designed to implant into people the first impression of new information. That it's fiction.

So much for telling people about "reptilians" now. They will all be suffering from "Star Wars Syndrome" - "You believe in aliens and spaceships! You've been watching too much Star Wars!"

There's an awful lot of truth in "V". Mixed with the standard dose of entertainment also.

I just finished watching the pilot on ABC.com, loved it. Didn't see the originals in the 80's because I didn't come to this planet, um, country until the 90's.

About the similarities with the Obamamania, there were at least three that I picked up:

*********** SPOILER ALERT **********************

1.The alien sleeper cell guy had an American passport but they could not find any other proof that he was born here. Like, birth certificate for example, wink-wink.

2.The aliens were actively recruiting young people for "Peace ambassadors". Obama youth, anyone?

3.The journalist dude how could you not see this one?
Morena Baccarin says the visitors want to give health care to all, and the dude goes, Universal health care?
They are passing this thing right now through the House, I mean, come on.

Great observations.
Those are the types of things that they do to bring it up to date. Several members stated that since the original "V" was produced many years ago, that it could not be about Obama. However, as you pointed out, aspects of the series change to draw parallels from today.
Starred.

I'm calling goober as well. This is (yet another) remake of an old program. It seems like everything that comes up these days has some, usually sinister, connection to Obama. Give us a break for the love of Obama.

I'm usually the last to defend the mouth piece of socialism but I call 'goober' on it as well.
Right now remaking 80s films is in-vogue and the V reboot is part of the 80s groove happening right now...
