Here are the photos that I took at the United Nations on Monday, 27 November 1978. I erred when I said that I had gotten the invitation through my
Assistant Editor job at the magazine BEYOND REALITY. But it happened differently. I went to dinner at a NYC restaurant called BOODLE'S (long gone).
The Maitre D' was Lee Spiegel who had connections with UFOlogy. We spoke at length and he found out I was a UFO researcher, etc., and asked me if I
wanted to attend the U.N. special meeting...
I didn't take photos of everyone attending but I got a good sample of the major names. Enjoy. If you should feel like adding your comments, don't
copy the photos, just use REPLY TO. On with the show!

S&F on such a quick response from the other thread regarding UN disclosure activity. As the rumors of disclosure become more prevalent, we can be
assured now that the UN does in fact discuss these topics.
You must have a very orderly storage unit to pull these out so quickly.

I have a deep portable file that's blue in honor of Project Blue Book!
I don't have as much as I used to have but the photos I'll always have. I was honored to have been able to attend.

I went to a UFO lecture in Culver City, CA in the '80s and Friedman was one of the speakers. I took a photo of him looking at these photos. He said
he never saw any prior to mine.

Thanks for sharing!
This is totally off-topic and I apologize in advance. Do you have any idea why Grenada was invaded by the US? I always thought the official reason was
bogus.
You can send me a U2U, so your thread won't be derailed.
Thanks,
N

Or rather, discussed them at one point.
What was the outcome of the meeting, Ed?

Wow, these are great! I must be honest, I was a little "skeptical" myself when I first saw that you were going to be posting these. But having seen
them, I am completely comfortable with admitting that I was wrong! Very cool stuff!
BTW, I love Stanton Friedman!

I'll bet they were having the same conversations then as we are having right now!
lol
you would think there would be some skeptic crushing evidence by now.
I mean 6 billion people on the planet, the advent of visual recorders that anyone can have and still....
dots of light in the sky are the best we have? or fuzzy out of focus fish in a shallow pool of water? or led toys reflected in double glazed windows
and of course copius cgi animations.
In the 70's it took skill to convincingly alter a photo.
Nowadays, your 12 year old nephew can do it so well it is better than anything Billy Meier ever faked!
in the 70's tv shows from europe were rarely sen in NA and vice versa, never mind asian countries, so people could get a hol dof their clips an dshow
it elsewhere and create a buzz.
nowadays, communication is getting better and better, image collection is totally accessible and we are reverted back to pictures of airplanes at
night with voice overs saying "what the heck is that, omgh omg etc etc"
*sighs*
thankfully the series "V" starts tonight! yay! and thankfully, it'll be some good fantasy! better than blurry films of night landings at generic
airstrips. lol

Awesome step back in time there Ed.. really enjoy any form of historical "walks down memory lane" when it comes to research. We can learn so much
about the present and the future by looking back in our history.
Please share more (photos, info) if you can, I find it fascinating for us all.. And thank you for presenting these for us..

Prime Minister Gairy looks like a funky chap - he's also made some interesting statements about UFOs:
"I know that flying saucers exist because I myself saw one three years ago, and U.N. diplomats will not think I am crazy for saying so. I am
convinced that persons from outer space are studying us, or perhaps living among us as earthlings."
Prime Minister Eric Gairy of Grenada - Addressing the 1977-1978 General Assembly meeting of the United Nations.

The ol' mind ain't what it used to be! The only memory I have from 1978 is driving cross-country to L.A. with my wife in a Cadillac that we had to
transport to San Diego! We didn't have that much to take so what we had was taken in a truck courtesy of a friend. Unfortunately, when our stuff
was unloaded in L.A. the box with my notes, audio cassettes, and a lot of my UFO-connected papers from when I was a UFO investigator were lost. When
I went to the U.N. and was escorted to the gallery instead of the big committee auditorium you see in the photo from the gallery I was confused
'cause I thought I'd be down there with them so that I could take notes to have them published in the UFO magazine I was associated with. I didn't
feel that bad after I turned around and saw Timothy Green Beckley sitting behind me. I guess we just didn't qualify.
I'm sure that whatever was being discussed was piped in through the P.A. system of the gallery but it's a blur to me. I have a better, more concise
memory of being ejected from a UFO lecture (which got me into a newspaper article!) than listening to those great people like Vallee, Hynek and, yes,
even Friedman!
Sorry I can't satisfy your curiosity. You can guess what the topics might have been if you check back on the UFO status in the late 1970s. Same
thing that's going on now, without the greys.
