Who really cares about what the CFR thinks about anything?
If you work in this town (DC) you know they are a second rate think tank. They have no control, they have no power. This is a group of inside the
beltway intellectuals talking (basically) over tea.
They're annoying faux-intellectuals, but not more than that, so feel free to ignore these dumb___ blowhards mouthing off.
In the end, all of this chatter about H1N1 is just that: chatter.
I really don't understand why everyone is getting worked up... get the shot, don't get the shot. Whatever! I mean it's already November.
Inoculation season is almost over, Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner, and guess what, if you don't want to get the shot you don't
have to.
If you think it puts your kids at risk don't do it. Sheesh.
I know lots of parents who have thoughtfully negotiated this minefield. We, chose to get shots, no big deal, our kids have never gotten sick, ill,
shown side effects and it gives us a sense that we're doing right by our kids (our family call, not yours, so don't mouth off on my choices, it's a
free country).
Most parents we know have made a decision (like we have) that this vaccine will keep their kids from getting sick. And from what I've read it
probably will. For other parents we know, they have either chosen not to get the shot or worked hard to find places that are giving out
non-thimerosol shots. So, honestly , it's all about choices, options and being smart, and guess what no-ones forcing you here.
Finally, the US govt. can't do conspiracy. Never has been able to.
But I will say this. Big pharma has taken advantage of the constant feed cycle of the cable news networks to hype the concern. I also think the CDC
will always err on the side of caution when urging people to get vaccinated. Those two things lead to the kind of news explosion that you see. It's
not a govt. run thing, it's just the nature of cable news.
