Back in 1978 I attended a special meeting at the United Nations on behalf of a resolution calling for the establishment of an agency to study UFOs on a global scale.

On what capacity? If you don't mind me asking.

As a reporter/observer. In 1978 I was Assistant/Associate Editor of 2 UFO magazines, Beyond Reality and its sister publication UFO UPDATE! The editor Harry Belil introduced me to Lee Spiegel, a UFO researcher and aquaintance of astronaut Gordon Cooper. Lee invited me to the U.N. and I was sent an invitation from Sir Eric Gairy.

I sat in the visitors gallery and watched the proceedings below, taking photos of Timothy Green Beckley who sat near me and other personalities. When the meeting broke up we were escorted to the reception room on another floor and the people that had spoken came in. From Sir Eric Gairy, Stanton Friedman, Cooper, Ralph and Judy Blum, and a bunch of other UFOlogists authors and researchers whose names escape me now. I got the photos, the U.N. program and my invitation but they're in storage so I can't access them right now. It was a great day, hobnobbing with great names!

Here is a photo from the movie UFORIA with Cindy Williams reading one of our magazines. The movie also featured Harry Dean Stanton, Fred Ward, Beverly Hope Atkinson, Harry Carey Jr., Diane Adair, Robert Gray (II), Ted Harris.

If and when you can it'd be great if you could share them with us. I'm sure a lot of people would love to see those. I know I would. Regardless of the outcome it certainly was an historical moment.

I'll look for them and post them but keep in mind that while you and some members will enjoy them there will also be some members who may go on a tirade accusing me of ego-tripping and other "crimes." Hang around for that, will you?

but no actual meeting minutes, briefings, or anything else substantiating what was discussed in these meetings.

What we really want to know is a few more details about what exactly was said in that meeting.

I hope you can use this information Outrageo, but it is still not official.

Thanks SpaceV (and the rest of you as well) - the research is yielding little in hard evidence, but some interesting surprises...

Backtracking through most 'sources' often brings us full circle and returns to a familiar cast of characters: Besides, Salla, we find Alfred Webre, Hoagland, the Coast-to-coast conspiracists, names you're all familiar with. yet;

Here's a few that have some intriguing, if as yet unverifiable content:

Black Vault Project's Examiner article has a few thought-provoking morsels; i.e.,

Source: White House Defense Agenda Policy

Judging by the public policy agenda as laid out on the Obama White House website, the entire citizen effort at input into White House policy that took place during the Obama transition period with regard to extraterrestrial disclosure has for functional purposes been a whitewash and a political deception by the Obama administration.

...this series on the Obama administration, the United Nations, UFOs and extraterrestrial life [began] by concluding that one of the following options would occur.
* Transparent disclosure of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) and extraterrestrial life....
* An “alien false flag invasion,” carried out by black budget military-intelligence units...
* Extraterrestrial disclosure carried out by informed citizens groups and experts in official public venues and on the media throughout the earth...

This came from the Rense group (also cited in many other places):

The office of the President of the 63rd U.N. General Assembly (UNGA) Miguel D'Escoto Brockmann, the former Sandinista foreign minister of Nicaragua (1979-90), also has confirmed to this reporter that it would support any U.N. member nation calling for implementation of UNGA Decision 33/426, which calls for coordination of research on "unidentified flying objects (UFOs) and extraterrestrial life." On March 22, 2009, a U.S. ally, the U.K. Ministry of Defence released over previously secret files relating to UFOs and extraterrestrial life.

Although there are many references to this UN General Assembly Resolution (specifically, UNGA 33rd Session (1978-1979): A/33/45 (GAOR, 33rd Session, Suppl. No. 45)), there seems to be a dearth of documentation from the supposed subcommittee meetings that focused attention on the actual claimed disclosure process by Obama or whomever.

UNGA 33/426 states, verbatim:

Establishment of an agency or a department of the United Nations for undertaking, co-ordinating and disseminating the results of research into unidentified flying objects and related phenomena

At its 87th plenary meeting, on 18 December 1978, the General Assembly, on the recommendation of the Special Political Committee adopted the following text as representing the consensus of the members of the Assembly:

"1. The General Assembly has taken note of the statements made, and draft resolutions submitted, by Grenada at the thirty-second and thirty-third sessions of the General Assembly regarding unidentified flying objects and related phenomena.

"2. the General Assembly invites interested Member States to take appropriate steps to coordinate on a national level scientific research and investigation into extraterrestrial life, including unidentified flying objects, and to inform the Secretary-General of the observations, research and evaluation of such activities.

"3. The General Assembly requests the Secretary-general to transmit the statements of the delegation of Grenada and the relevant documentation to the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, so that it may consider them at its session in 1979.

"4. The Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space will permit Grenada, upon its request, to present its views to the Committee at its session in 1979. the committee's deliberation will be included in its report which will be considered by the General Assembly at its thirty-fourth session."

Ok, so what has become of this initiative? Where are the results, (and, more importantly, any conclusions drawn from those results) that this resolution said was to have been made to the UN Secretary-General? Where's the actual report? Even if 'classified', is the results within that report part of the impetus for the flurry of claims about disclosure right now?

Well - looks like we may be doing a bit of *sighing* ourselves. it's becoming the norm that these claims are virtually exploding onto the scene, and then as soon as you start digging through the weeds to look for facts things get murky and proof or validation remains elusive.

Either there is little truth to the claim or the truth is so well obscured that the claim can not be substantiated.

Again - if the UN (funded by and presumably operating on behalf of the global citizenry) has had specific discussions regarding ET disclosure, why can't we learn about it.

So the discussions were private or there were security concerns, etc., etc. That's fine - save your actual "disclosure" until you think you (or "we") are ready. Until then - we just want to know if the meetings took place...

Still hunting...

I've posted the photos on a separate thread so as not to hijack this one. I'm using your request as the thread opener.
