Another one to add. The police in Bath are next to useless, Ive seen open drug dealing in suburban streets, when a large gathering of drunk, violent chavs happens and damages/sets fire to property/threatens people with sharp implements, the police just give people a crime report to fill in and bring to the station th next day, while the police are up to this???

The UK police in general, use force when not needed, do not enough when needed and instead of putting traffic cops on the road, employ cash, sorry road safety cameras everywhere

some examples of stupid UK police officers (some coarse language):

Thats the quite the list you have there alyosha1981. I hardly know where to begin. I will start by saying that I am a cop, and a good one. I have never beaten anyone. I have been a fight or two, but never used any more force necessary than that required to defend myself and control the situation. Actually, I have been hurt a couple of times trying not to hurt the other guy.(thanks, you're welcome) I've have had to pull other cops off of people and that angers me when that happens. Obviously, there are bad cops out there, and even that is an understatement.

I have recovered tens of thousands of dollars in stolen property. The last 3 guns stolen in my area, I have recovered and gotten them off the street. I have been instrumental in getting drugs, drug dealers, and numerous drunk drivers off the the street. I have gone to countless domestic disturbances and have racked up many hours of impromptu counseling. I have rescued an infant from the arms of his drunk father and women from the wrath of their drunk husbands and boyfriends. I've had to hold people down to keep them from hurting someone while I waited for backup to arrive. I've rushed into homes where people with guns and one with a samurai sword were waiting. I've stopped cars at 2 in the morning on dark roads with tinted windows having no idea what was on the inside. I've found a sawed off shotgun under the driver's seat of a car I stopped. Wonder who that was meant for? I've waded alone into street fights by myself to break them up (we are a one horse town with no backup). I have to deal with sexually abused children and listen to their stories via cctv as a trained nurse pulls their stories from them. I've listened to sex offenders as they have told their stories and made them sound like legitimate relationships and that the six year old girl "wanted them". I've sat at the hospital waiting on rape kits from victims. I have sat hours at the hospital with mental committments keeping them calm as they went from one mood and rant and rage to another.

I've had my life and that of my family threatened. I've been spit at, cussed, and critizied and that regardless of what I do. I'm either too easy or too tough. I am constantly accused of prejudice and bias and again, regardless of what I do.

I could go on and on, but I could also tell of the countless other officers and their selfless acts that I know of. You may be saying that I seem to be blowing my own horn and you'd be damn right. I promise you, no one else will. Instead, you, the media, and others (not everyone) are too busy accentuating the negative and eliminating the positive.

What do you and others here do for a living? Any bad eggs in your office, shop, factory, whatever? Of course they are. The difference? They are not scrutinized on their every move.

The increase in bad officers is in direct correlation to the decrease in the quality of the labor pool that our crumbling society has to offer. The problem with the young officers coming into service now is that they believe the badge makes the officer instead of the officer making the badge. It's the strength of character and judgement that gives the badge it's power, not physical strength, contempt, and a cocky attitude.

I'm sick of it,

I do have to point out although, unprofessional of these police officers, to do what they did, romthe video footage she encouraged it and participated in what was going on.

Now I am one for taking on the police when it comes to over use of thier power. Seems in this case these guys were handed, a hook, line, and they were sunk by it.

Sacked yes, serious misconduct, but she should have been charged also.

I could not disagree more with you and others in this thread that said the cops acted like any other man would. Wrong!!! Cops are and should be held to a higher standard. There is no excuse for their actions and they should have been fired. As a Sergeant, I got an officer fired for his conduct with a female on duty. That activity is for a bar or a nightclub, not the Police Station. Even most dogs have enough sense not to crap in their supper bowl.

Well said. The calibur of candidates does seem to be going down. The Local PD in my town was considering changing the test or lowering the score required because those taking it weren't able to meet standards. Thankfully they decided against it, but that was 5 to 7 years ago. I don't know if they've revisited it or not.

Thanks to the media and shows about dirty cops, the public no longer views the police officer as an outstanding citizen. But it like everything else in the world, you're going to find what you're looking for. If it happens to be bad cops. they'll be everywhere. The only expection to that rule seems to be a restroom. Never around when you need one. But wait, don't they also say that about cops, firemen, nurses, and Doctors. The truth is, they're there, you just are looking in the right places.

It doesn't matter if she was nude and spread eagled. Those officers were supposed to PROTECT her.

They took advantage of her.

Wow lol. I've watched a lot of police brutality videos and they boil my blood. But this video is just stupid. What did you expect those cops who are MEN to do? Escort her out? Yeah, they should have, probably. But she was an attractive woman acting extremely seductively and the cops fell for it. Drunk? So what. Being drunk doesn't make you do anything you didn't already wanna do anyway. It just amplifies extreme behavior, like this. She is not a victim.

By the way, I hate cops who abuse their power.

Right, so your daughter gets drunk and goes out and starts flirting with guys, your gunna be OK with them taking advantage of her.

Sheesh, what a difference, one thread where a girl is raped for 2 hours and everyones all over it.

Here the damn POLICE who are paid to LOOK AFTER people like her, taking advantage of it, and it's all a party time for the boys in blue.

Sickening.

I don't care if she was drunk or not, they were on duty and supposed to protect her form that sort of behaviour, not perpetrate it.

I guess some people just expect PROFESSIONALISM from those who are meant to uphold the law.

Love the excuses tho guys. Will have to remember it the next time a woman is raped or abused; if she was drunk then she deserved it.

Right on brothas.

Firstly I did not state someone was taken advantage of. I like how you excuse such behavior as natural though.

Really, are all men little more than raving sexual animals that just can't help themselves anytime some quarter of the way dressed hot thang comes their way? You do yourself a disservice when you claim such things.

Except most misogynist idiots would be quite quick to say any woman who gets drunk is asking for it. That's a common defense in court and it works. I remember a man was acquitted because his victim somehow convinced him to use a condom. There's a lot of people out there who hate women and I have no idea why.

I couldn't agree more. Again, right is right and wrong is wrong. Drunk, horny, butt naked, the cops were in the wrong. Those of you who cannot see that, please stay out of police work and away from my grandchildren.
This is what I meant by what I said in the other post above. The quality of the labor pool in this crumbling society has gone to hell. As a result this is the type of cops....and opinions, we get.

This is the type of thread that needs its own forum. ATS Make it happen. How about a new "Police State" Forum. Like I've always said, 'The police brutality needs to stop!'

I would have to agree. i think the Mods should consider dedicating a forum to the police state.

its up to them, but good idea though!

OP S&F!

For the video... the guys looked like they were suckered in HARD. She is equally at fault, however she was not sober, and the police shouldn't of done what they did. maybe in a bar, at a club, or wherever, but not ON DUTY! They deserve to be suspended without pay for a few months.

You are taken 1 thing and making it into 100 times than it was.

Did I say I supported those cops involved?

NO,

I said look at both sides of the argument!

So get your facts right before you, go accusing me of sticking up for the police, from which ever country that happens to be!!!

Keep in mind that it's not just cops, it is security guards, too.

I had already known that, but one night at the Cleveland Greyhound station, I was reminded of it. Cleveland's ruthless Cleveland Metro Security company grabbed me after I showed them my ticket that I had just bought, forcefully dragged me into a back office, dumped the contents of all my pockets on a table, then proceeded to sexually humiliate and assault me. Afterwards they said that they did it "because I fit a description."

When I went to the cops they said "they can do anything they want, because they said you fit a description." No attorney would take the case.

Don't ask me how much I hate America. Thanks.

Its usually a felony for a police officer to refuse a citizens arrest, I'm sure nobody went out of their way to tell you... you probably could have citizen arrested any non sworn person who laid a finger on you (for battery).

If any private security guard arrests you, s/he is likely doing so via citizens arrest, you have every right to arrest them (for battery) using the same powers of arrest (in California 837PC). Many guards have aspirations of joining a police dept, a citizens arrest is an arrest, meaning they must check "yes" to every "have you ever been arrested?" question. A devastating blow to someones background.

As far as the video; those guys were just being guys who got flirted with by some hot tart.. I didn't see a victim, just consenting adults playing the game of life. I'm pretty sure these guys can still go save lives after, omg, reacting like men having hot tail being thrown at them. Chicks who throw themselves at cops are called "badge bunnies", they're everywhere.. I promise you even the most homely dude on every dept gets laid, or has a girlfriend way out of his league.

For every nefarious link above, there are 10 or 20 un-reported stories out there of cops making a positive difference in peoples lives.. these stories dont make the news because: is just another shift for the officers.

BTW if you don't like reading about "bad cops", go demand you local dept turn back the clock and adhere to the hiring standards of 25 years ago where ONLY the cream of the crop got hired and there were no special considerations for gender, race or whatever... you either qualified, or didn't.

Today?, 2 people apply for LAPD & take the oral exam which is an initial test used to cull the herd: one man gets 70%, the other 98%.. who has a better chance of advancing to the next phase? depends on the race & gender. A white male scoring 98% will FAIL relative to an other male, or female, scoring 70%.

Standards have been lowered, getting lower, academies made easier.. for years... there are cops working today who would have never made the grade 10, 15, 20 years ago... ask any old salty veteran how much tough it used to be.

Question, was the officers in the first clip dealt with? Under disciplinary procedures, or was this washed under the carpet?

Just wondering... Awaits Ha`la`tha responce since he/she seems to think, I am clueless.
