october 25th...nothing happened....surprised?? so what about 2012?, page 1

surprise surprise nothing happened...so what about 2012? i predict ALSO nothing will happen.

if i get this right does that make me a prophet? well it makes me a better one than the ones that got you guys hooked.

this is a good example for why you should just ignore these prophecies.

because "i told you so" is gonna be the first thread posted on ATS on december 22nd 2012...an all the dumb believers are gonna be stuck with a years supply of canned food and a home made bomb shelter they dug in their back yards.

heres a few reasons why 2012 is a dud

1. The mayans did NOT in any way say or even predict that december 2012 was doomsday...its simply the date their calendar cycle ends which they believed represented a new era. when our modern calendar ends on december 31st each year do you think the world will end?

2. nostradamus has predicted lots of things including a large comet AND world war 3...he did NOT in any way say it was 2012 when this would happen....and im sure they both wont happen on that same day. he ALSO stated that his predictions are liable to change and not be fulfilled...kinda covering his back but hey...means if he predicts a comet...he can be wrong.

3. nibiru is coming? sure...apparently nibiru is on a 3600 year obit around our sun and comes close to us every 3600 years...well humans have been here for longer than 3600 years...which means this close encounter is NOT the cause of a doomsday scenario...perhaps some extreme weather...rising tides and earthquakes...but if they can survive 3600 years ago...we can survive now.

4. the bible predicts it? the bible is supposed to give insight as to the end of the world? but doesnt the bible also state...that man shall not see when the end will come and that only god knows...we will only know wen it actually comes. so what kind of author contradicts himself? and lets be honest...the bible also says man was made from dust and women from mans bone and that a talking snake tells them not to eat fruit from a tree. hardly a credible source. so how were dinosaurs made? the author of the bible swept that one under the rug ay?

5. solar flare? sure...get caught strolling through space...or casually working on a satelite an you mite get fried by a solar flare...but here on earth the worst you can expect is your electrical items fail on you...solar flares are reflected by our atmosphere...sure there can be occasional more severe flares such as the one that hit the states in the past...but you dont get hurt you just get pissed cuz you paid for that porn subscription and your not getting it.

6. galactic alignment? gamma rays? earth medium-rare? i dont think so....our solar system is constantly moving through our galaxy slowly drifting up and down through the eclyptic plane roughly every 26000 years...whatever happens during that period of passing through the plane cant be that bad because life easily survived whatever happend 26000 years ago.

all of the predictions for 2012 can be discredited andthis october 25th prophecy is a good example as to why we should just ignore them and get on with our lives....bring on 2013...call of duty 10 is gonna be awsome

I'm gonna give you a star for that because it is in part funny and seemingly true.

Everyone likes to think they live in the times of the 'end of days.' They think some great force will suddenly and quickly end their lives. Well, maybe that will happen in this life you live, but if it were or were not, it wouldn't matter! It would still happen, and there'd be nothing you could do about it. If you were meant to survive such an event, you would...if not, you'd die.

That's why seeing into "the future" is so pointless. If you see the future, you've seen the future (and can't change it). So seeing the future is useless unless you can change it. Who can change the future? Not sure about that one...

I don't know if that link works or whatever, I just googled this article. In case it doesnt, here's a quick quote:

So there you go, guy. Just like I said. There's gonna be a rare occurence, but obviously no one can say what's going to happen as a result of it.

My point is that people like you (who type 'coz' and 'with with'), aren't just sources of headaches, they're also hypocrites. Where's YOUR source? I have no idea what the "orbit software" is, and just saying you 'checked' it while plainly missing the facts, is just further proof that people don't use their brains anymore. And I won't waste my time looking up something that gave you the wrong data.

Again, just to be clear, and making sure it doesn't go over your head- I'm NOT advocating the 2012 theory, just saying that the galactic alignment is real, and only time will tell if all we get are some nice space pictures or global catastrophe. Got all that, chief?

You believe in 2012 theory coz you are hopeless and cant stand the fact that human kind is nothing and alone in this infinite universe. People keep hoping by believing in dumbness like 2012. In the end, they only meet despair and madness.

But thanks for the info. I thought that by alignment u meant with others planets of solar system. Nobody can tell what will happen but there are high chances that it wont be for your own good. Take care
