Well actually the left wing have been pushing for alternative fuel investment by the government. We oppose the Iraq oil war when the red states stood behind it. We advocated to cut loose from oil and look forward while the red states were howling "drill baby drill" so Im not sure where you come on OPEC in relation to the blue states. Lets not forget the majority of oil drilling in the US is in the red states, so you folks are most welcome to that.

But the OP says that the blue states are leaving, so that would leave us to continue on as the US...

How about as part of this deal we leave DC on its own and let it rot?

Sounds very one sided but as long as the blue states take DC then the red states still get the best end of the deal.

As far as the new capitol goes, who cares? If it's not DC then we're all better off.

Well, it'll take a lot of fence but we'll figure a way to keep the blue staters out.

Can't have them all sneaking in when they realize what they've done to themselves.

Just a thought, you guys might want to re-check the red state blue state status at this point in time. After the last year, there might be a few changes.

I suspect that there will be some states that aren't as blue as they were at election time.

Since the blue states are leaving we get to keep the eagle as our country's bird.

There will be some sorting out to be done concerning sports. You may possibly get a visa for the games.

Im unsure though how you folks are going to manage to keep up half the world's military expenditure? President Obama already tried to lower the increase in military funding by $15 billion this year and the red states were all up in arms about guttin' the military.... and considering the red states were fully supporting the $1 trillion increase over the Bush years in military funding.... and considering we are taking more than half of the GDP with us... how are you folks going to cope? I tell ya in the blue states we aint to fussed about the military industrial complex.

By the way folks, the Hispanic population is spreading like wild fire down there I hope you folks can find to leave in peace. I for one welcome our hispanic american brothers.... Im just unsure they will recieved the same welcome in the good'ol red states.

Just some fun facts folks, by 2050 over half of texas will be none white. Maybe this will test the meaning of what it means to be Texan. Most hispanics are conservative though... although that never stopped discrimmination in the south.

except for tucson and flagstaff, arizona is solidly a red state...in my county of 200,000 people there are more registered independents than dems, and 80% of the hispanic population lives in the tucson , phoenix area-even though only 65% of the states population lives in those 2 metro areas.

Don't worry when we get rid of the blue states all the illegals are getting tossed back over the border. Nobody will stop us since all the bleeding hearts will have defected to the blue states. Maybe then the government will actually start enforcing the law regarding ILLEGAL immigrants.

However, we are nice so if you blue states want them we will chase them over to your territory. We know how you like to enslave them so you can get your cheap labor.

That doesn't even touch the hundred or so billion in interest that has to be paid on the 600 billion in 'stimulus' money that is not even being used or disbursed. Now they want another 3/4 trillion in billionaire banker welfare so that wall street can stay solvent to screw us a little longer?

Yeah, I think I can see the difference in wisdom when it comes to spending 15 billion in existing funding for our troops, versus spending 1.5 trillion in heavy interest loans for programs to weaken the dollar and reinforce the socialist agenda.

You can keep Obama and his methods of 'saving' money for the blue states.
