The reason this happened is more obvious than most will admit. most people are cowards, it is engrained in them since the creation of dialing 911. People today are taught not to help or get involved and dial 911...even if the person needs help. I have been witness to many events where people and children needed urgent help. And in every case... people just sat or stood there looking on as a life was about to be lost. Some even continued to eat without a care in the world. What use would it be to call 911 if someone is dying infront of you. By the time the EMT or Police show up the person has already died. Which also give partial creedence to the saying "A gun in hand is better than a cop on the phone".

There is no real reward to helping someone other than a personal one. You risk your life to save someone most if not all the time there is no big parade, or honor ceremony or monetary reward. Sometime the person you save isnt even gratefull! The only trophies I have for risking my neck is in the form of scars. At a restaraunt in Albuquerque NM I saved a baby from choking, and got absoloutley nothing for it. I even had to pay for all the people I invited. The sad truth is all you get is a pat on the back and "GOOD JOB" and nothing more. I am THAT GUY... and any you others out there who are THAT GUY also know all to well of the rewards of a real hero.

People who go looking to be HEROES get exactly what they are looking for. Real heroes know better than to go out looking for trouble. They know full well they are doing what nobody else will. They know they will not be saved by a rule, bell, refferee or whistle. I have seen so many people freeze up when confronted with such events. When your bodies overdose on adrenilne and you hands begin to shake, and you breathing becomes erratic... your vison becomes slightly blurred at the edges of your vison and everything moves in errie slow motion. A study done by neuro-scientists have found a nano-peptide combination that only 2% of the population has. The study done on soldiers in Special Operation teams like the SEALs, Delta, Recon and SOAR teams all revealed in their brain chemistry to have the same nano-peptide levels that enable them to be able to think in high stress life-death situations.

It is also an observation that people who act brave or tough are anything but when the SHTF. That infact they are the biggest cowards, if I were to bet money on the rapists there are probably all the big "Tough Guys" at school.

usualy this behaviur originates from home settings and how parents taugth or didnt taugth their kids to behave.

could even be that since it was a "gang" rape, the rapists have done this before and now they went "public" so to say that in their mind it was ok what they did since it was a "norm"

i bet you ll find all kinds of nice trivia in the rapists backgrounds.

This is horrible. These people definitely need to be put away. I don't agree with death punishments in the slightest, but I don't think a death sentence would even be necessary. These people, the ones who rape, the ones who abuse children, they die in jail. They die horrible, painful deaths, but not before they get the same treatment they are in there for inflicting.

put them all in jail and then lets hear about them getting raped in jail and no one helping, except to join in....
