Obama’s decision not to build the Missile Defense System in Poland and the Czech Republic and his Noble Prize have not yet been comprehended from a philosophical viewpoint. It’s time to do it.

When are we going to wake up? Now Russian sources are saying we are moving towards socialism? Just because the POTUS is more holy than Jesus we have to follow him into a government controlled train wreck of a society?

When are we as Americans going to realize what our grandparents and great-grandparents knew: Socialism is BAD!!

Very good article BTW but it is really pointing out the inevitable end of an era of illusion. The inevitable end of an era which would've occurred with Obama or not.

It clearly states " Collapse of an Illusion" which is what our American Dream really was.

It was an Illusion of prosperity built upon borrowing and not by producing.

Borrowing from the rest of the world to fuel the illusion of wealth.

The license to print money out of thin air and lend it out to Americans to spend and consume.

The inflation inherent in Our worthless Dollar made our products too expensive forcing production and jobs over seas but creating more profits for the stockholders.

The greed of padding the pockets of the stock holders instead of focusing on quality products drove GM and Chrysler to bankruptcy long before Obama.

Not building the Eastern European Missile Shield would have only lined the pockets of the wealthy weapons purveyors over at the Carlyle Group.

As Americans are losing their jobs and homes , you can guarantee that the wealthy have no concerns about losing theirs. Aren't they rich enough ?

We should use the money for the missile shield to repair our bridges and roads here back at home. Creating more jobs.

Socialism isn't bad. Socialism simply means that workers own and control the means of production, thus eliminating the exploitative system of wage slavery.

What you're referring to is "State Socialism", a left wing ideology that shares traits with statist nationalism, i.e. fascism. State Socialism and Socialism only became confused when Marx used the term socialism to describe state socialism as the intermediary transitional phase between capitalism and communism. The need for state socialism is the flaw in Marx's system, and consequently, the Communist Revolution has never gotten past the State Socialism stage due to human greed, causing it to collapse into statist nationalism and show more in common with right wing authoritarian ideals. Communism, the final stage, isn't the state controlled system that Stalin, Mao, etc have ruled over, but the lack of the state and thus the distribution of industry and goods equally across the population. Marx believed that in state socialism, or "the dictatorship of the Proletariat" as he called it, the state would dissolve away. Greed simply makes this impossible, which is why the theories and ideas of leftist anarchists such as Bakunin or the original socialists need to be presented to people at large, not the idea that communism = socialism, gulags, genocide, and starvation.
