By now all or most of us know here on ATS of President Obama's unprecented attempts to demarginalize and bash Fox News as a biased republican news arm not worthy of being on TV. The back and forth between the the white house and fox news has been fun to watch. im no fan of fox but i think fox has just delivered that last word in this battle....

mediadecoder.blogs.nytimes.com...

For the month, CNN averaged 202,000 viewers between the ages of 25 and 54 – the group that television news organizations use as their basis of success because of their advertising sales. That was far behind the dominant leader, Fox News, which averaged 689,000. But it also trailed MSNBC which had 250,000 viewers in that group and HLN which had 221,000 viewers.

whats especially satisfying is to see the "Obama News Network" (CNN) in dead last.. personally i have no vested interest in any MSM, i come here for my news... the white house just got punked

1) MSNBC is not on basic cable. In most markets you have to pay for a premium package.

2) Young viewers get their news via other sources like the internet.

3) Fox's main viewership are old stupid people who stay home all day and watch it constantly.

4) People love sensationalism and cannot wait to hear what retarded looney thing Glen Beck will say next.

5) There is the news (MSNBC, NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN) the their is Fox Noise which is not News. It is Right wing radio on the tv.

Because answer me this question, how is Fox a news organization if they are creating, sponsoring and promoting demonstrations against this Democratic Administration and the Government a la "tea Parties"?

That isn't a news organization that is a political operation.

I think Fox is so popular because its not abreviated for anything, therefore the audience can watch peacefully without having to tax too deeply into their mental resources just trying to find out which network their watching.

The WH was stupid in the first place to even start a war of words with a 24 hour news station. They get one or two people on a day to fight with Fox for a total of maybe 15 minutes and Fox has all day and night to fight back.

It was a stupid strategy.

The WH did nothing except raise the ratings Fox was getting. They got on television and saying this and that about them. Those who don't watch Fox get curious and tune in. Some like what they see and keep watching. Some might even agree enough with what Fox is saying to switch parties.

Again stupid strategy on behalf of the White House.

MSNBC and Fox are exactly the same thing, just on differant sides of the political spectrum.

One of the alphabet news channels did a fluff piece with Obama. Even shared a burger with the President.

People don't like Fox because it is the only one that openly critizises Obama. The rest ignore him unless something good happens or blame it on Bush.

Not trying to pick a side here.

But wasn't Twilight like the best selling book of 08? I don't think that goes to show it was an intellectual masterpiece.

FOX being the #1 rated news network doesn't necessarily mean they say anything worth hearing.

Where does PBS rank? Close to the bottom...probably ROCK BOTTOM. There is nothing entertaining about straight forward "news". Fox isn't news, it's entertainment for the mindless.

No they are NOT the same thing. MSNBC does not create, sponsor and promote demonstrations against the Government. MSNBC does not lie to its audience day in and day out. MSNBC does not call the President of the United Stated a Marxist, Communist, Socialist who gives terrorist fist jabs to his wife all the while forcing you to take a vaccine and killing Grand Ma with a death panel.

So no they are NOT the same. One lies to its audience faces nightly and the other spends most of their time calling them out on it. Because someone has to.

Was it stupid....or was it GENIUS?

Maybe WH wants us watching it so we will be assured of seeing no "real" news...

So...if you don't watch Fox News, then you're automatically a liberal?

Do you realize the sheer ignorance of your comment and mentality?

Im not going to take sides here, but i will say this:

Maddow and Olberman have never said, nor have they had guests who have suggested, that someone assassinate the President of the United States.

Fox News...however....has.

Fox News is just like the Rush Limbaugh show. It exists for entertainment.

Much like the Colosseum housed gladiators. People enjoyed watching other people mangle each other. No special effects. No fake blood.

Well, that is the image Fox News portrays. It's not news...its just special effects and fake blood.

and on a side note, simply saying "I am a news network" doesn't make it true.

No more than me setting up in a yahoo chat room telling all the ladies in the singles room that i'm 6'7", 200 lbs of heart throbbing muscle.

Just because i say its true, doesn't mean it actually is.

Fox News in no way shape or form portrays a journalistic image. Nothing.
They exist to stir the pot when their party holds office, and to whine, sniffle, and pout like a 4 year old on a temper tantrum when someone else is steering.

Its yin and yang.

Civilized rational thinking Americans. Yin.

Fox News and their pundits and loyal followers. Yang.

If you can't see that MSNBC is pushing an agenda for the government, as they are owned by GE at which Jeffrey Immelt is a top exec and is in the Obama administration setting up a monopoly on the implementation of cap and trade, they are acting as a real time propaganda machine for the other side. Not to mention all the foul and disrespectful that has been said towards Bush, Palin, and every other person or place that opposes their view. It is hilarious that people like you choose to put your blinders on and only see one side. Every media outlet in one form or another is pushing an agenga of some sort or another. If you read it on the internet, it must be true, lol.

Fox news is just more open and in your face when it comes to trying to sell it's agenda. Others try and be sneaky about it and * non partisan* when we all know they are not. I just want news stations to report the news...not dip it in agenda driven nonsense before hand, call me crazy. I would think a large portion of the viewers for fox news would be in it for the comical value though...just saying.

LMAO, I hope you and the Obama administration keep telling yourselves that, and I hope the fantasy makes both of you feel better at night.

Truth is Glenn Beck single handidly knocked them off of their high horse. Once they hit the ground, Hannity kicked them in the ribs.

No they are not the same thing. Fox lies, flat out, in the face of their public. They have even been taken to court over it and the court ruled that they don't have to tell the truth and that it is up to the watcher to determine if they are lying. I see opinion on MSNBC of course but not outright lies. MSNBC spends a lot of time exposing the lies and manipulations of FOX. There is a big big difference between Fox and MSNBC. There is a lot more to it than the fact that MSNBC is way left and FOX is way right. It just isn't that simple.

As far as FOX being the #1 cable news show, there are a plethora of stupid people out there, unwilling or unable to think for themselves. Eat *, a hundred million flies can't be wrong, can they?
