Why has this been declared a hoax?
I'm investigating the source of the footage of the hole and the meteorite burning at night, but the story itself seems legit.

Sounds like they are calling it a Hoax.

Look at the hole, it has griadient scraping marks in it on a spiral. This thing was dug out. Another thing is the parts that are burning. Look at the color of the flames, ect. This is fuel burning. If it was a metore, why would it be burning in a fashion like that?
It would have nothing to burn. Glowing hot maybe, but not in flames like it shows in the vid.

It's a hoax.

Agree with the hoax theories, thats not a meteorite crater, much too 'clean' and the comments about fuel burning rather than a hot object in soil are spot on.

I've read on several news sites that meteorites aren't hot when they slam into the earth. Do they cool down after they entered the atmosphere? Or What? Normally they burn completely so how can it be cold?

I heard little tiny aliens in silver costumes popped out of the burning rock and started an ornate dance routine that hypnotised the watchers into believing they don't exist.
