How do I create a table in a post?

Can I use HTML code, or is the BB code?

I would like to create a list like here: www.fdic.gov...

But add estimated and actual losses column.

I don't know of a way to code that specifically. What I would do is make it up in Excel, then take a screen shot of the table, upload and post it.

I don't think off hand that there is a way to create tables with the BBCode. There was a [url=http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread450084/pg1]thread[/thread] a while back where the Poster posted pretty much every BBCode that there is! If there is one for a table, it's there.

HTML code is turned off because of the treat of viruses or something like that.

Other than that, your best bet may be to make the table in Paint, GIMP, or some other such program and then upload it to the ATSMedia portal and then use the [ img] tags to put it into the post. Hope that helps!

ETA: I found this when I did a search in Google. I don't know if the code will work here on ATS though. Apparently the code [ table] will create a table. Then you use [ tr] and [ td] to create rows and columns respectively. I'll give it whirl here is a second as I read more on this page...

ETA2: After trying it, unfortunately, I'm going to have to say that the table tag doesn't work on ATS.

I like to use bamboo and stone, I find it more aesthetically pleasing. After the table is made, just take a picture of it and upload it to the post.

This site might help you. I'm not too good with BBcode, but it's worth a try.

There is a bbcode for tables but not every site has it turned on.

[table]
[tr]
[td]stuff[/td]
[/tr]
[tr]
[td]stuff[/td]
[/tr]
[/table]

[table][tr][td]stuff[/td][/tr][tr][td]stuff[/td][/tr][/table]

>>>stuff>>stuff

^ Replaced the brackets with greater than/less than symbols.

No joy.
