Just remember that the laws change, drastically, once a National Emergency is declared.

People on ATS seem to think that the legality of the laws is illegal and that based on the fact that they believe a conspiracy through a false flag is what induced the National Emergency, or Martial Law is in effect, they still have to prove that fact.

Or at least be smarter than the idiots plotting to overthrow the populace.

I know this might sound a bit odd, but mu wife pointed out that it was very interesting that this is happening just as they are trying to finalize the whole Health care reform debacle. Do you think Obama would try to abuse his powers under national security, in an effort to pass this bill (because of the "evil swine flu") and not have to deal with the opposition?

It would make sense wouldn't it? He keeps getting stopped at every turn by opposition, so in turn, what better way to actually do what you want, than to make the opposition a non-issue? "Oh you oppose my health care bill? Too bad, this is a matter of national security, so suck it up!" The same excuse could be used on how he's handling the economy. "Oh you don't like that I'm giving bailout money to failing banks and businesses? You don't like that I'm taking control over car dealers? Sorry, your opinion no longer matters as this is a national emergency, and as such, what I say goes... at least for the next 2 years" Sadly... by then 2 years will be WAY too late.

I think this is the most logical scenario, at present. However, I don't think he will come out and make it a demand, he won't need to. The fear tactics and media will sway the people (as it always does. Why this always happens is another question to ask...) and pressure will be on Congress to make it so. One thing I can believe about the Pres. is that an opportunity will not be passed up and this is a grand one...

This may be off topic but here is something I have noticed. At one company I work at I have noticed an increase in foreign drivers. Not Hispanic but somewhere else like Russian. and these guys can barely speak English. I also have a second job that has me traveling the states. I have noticed the same thing elsewhere. it may seem like a stretch to be mentioning this, but givin the circumstances we may be heading in, I thought it was worthy of mentioning.

While many of you would like to assume that declaring an act of emergency means imminent martial law, I think most clear-minded folks realize this is just a way to help hospitals and other health-care facilities get the assistance needed to get through this flu.

Just because a flu isn't super-deadly doesn't mean it's not a serious threat to the nation. At a time where our economy is a shambles, the sheer # of lost business time due to sick workers is a pretty serious hit to the economy, I can understand their concern.

I still don't entertain even a remote possibility of martial law, forced immunizations, or in fact, most things that people around here are afraid (i.e. hope) will happen.

The first paragraph in the Boston Globe link from m kahn is a real eyecatcher.

This law has been in act since '76.

And No, Obama's not pushing health care through because of the swine flu.

Obama wanted universal health care long before the swine flu even started.

Last night I started reading up n this after the declaration was announced. I was also interested in posse comitatus. I found u.s code title 10 to be relevant here.

Funny how drugs are regulated beyond belief, but when it comes to health hazards, it's no problem. They could have done something at the border, but I doubt it only originated in Mexico ( the flu ). Seems like planning was involved. How? Well one way is by looking at the Tami Flu stock holders.

I will say, without any hesitation whatsoever, that the "swine" flu was not originated by pigs (although it has pig in it) and it has nothing to do with south of the border any more than it has to do with Kazakhstan or the Galapagos Islands.
