keeping my kid home from school 10/26/09.. R U?

<<  1    2    3    4  >>

Topic started on 24-10-2009 @ 09:42 PM by theRiverGoddess

So...being a regular ATSer I have read all these different predictions and prophesys warning about something BIG & NASTY happening on next Monday.

I listen to C2C also and have heard plenty of dire warnings about the same date.

I do not particularly subscribe to ANY of these doom & gloom predictions, but....WHAT IF something does go down?
Just WHAT IF?

I do not want my kid to be across town at school IF something goes on (IE Martial law/earthquake/Yellowstone blows).....and then I am scrambling to locate him and get on with whatever we need to do to survive.
SOOOOO I am going to keep him home from school on Monday.
~~JUST IN CASE~~

Missing one day won't hurt much in the big scheme of things educationally IMO......and I believe it would be far better to have him close from the get go then to have to worry about how to fetch him home if something terrible goes wrong.

Anybody else thinking along these lines?

I mean...we ARE ATSers afterall, and some others here may also think they way I do.

Are you planning on telling them exactly why you're letting them stay at home?

And if so, what was the reaction?

I understand your fear. At the same time, I'll still be going to work tomorrow.

Ya I told him. With chuckles and grins......he knows ATS pretty well himself.
We prepared BOBS together.......we have had preparation BUG OUT drills....

Ive told him he gets a free day from school JUST IN CASE......he is not scared he is pumped to get to play HALO on a weekday

I work at home so Im already here...my biggest issue IF something were to happen would be to get my son home from school. He goes to a great charter school 8 miles from home so its NOT like he walks to & fro....

Monday is the 26th, and Timewave says the world doesn't end until 6pm, so hopefully I can pick them up by then!

lol fair enough.

Despite my skepticism that anything will happen, it's still very admirable of you to protect the family.

I am working the threads and WWW to make my final decission, I have already told the kids I might keep them home, but you know with all the financial news it just makes sense doom or gloom or whatever. If the banks go on holiday it is going to be a mess, just wait and see is my best idea.

(*I am probably with you 100%*)

A question.

If nothing happens does this make the whole timewave zero theory bunk?

OH DEAR! I mixed the days up..........I thought the 25th was on MONDAY....

Now that I see that its tomorrow and NOT Monday..... I just told him he was gunna have to go and he is acting very sad about this news.
lolerz.

Now he tells me I owe him a free day. I told him I will give him one for a Christmas present.

I dunno................I guess Im am just going to have to wait and see Monday am exactly how I feel about it......as this weird BANK HOLIDAY is so strange in and of itself.

Not at all. I've been telling folks for the last three weeks to watch out.

I paid for the Web Bot report last month and it scared the crap out of me.

THEN I found out Timewave was taking a dump that day.

I'm not sure what the event will be... I was guessing financial due to the market last week, Bank of America getting smacked, etc..

However, the UN Nuclear inspectors arrived in Iran a few minutes ago and Iran is accusing the US of trying to steal it's nuclear material... maybe the administration had some foresight by declaring the national emergency today?

ok then he stays home.

He will be thrilled.

That grid of the timewave zero thing forces me to think extreme cautioun IS advised.

Im glad to see your thinking this way to Antar.

..............anyone else?

If it gives you peace of mind, then I agree keep him home. Missing one day of school won't be a big deal in the long run. Consider it a mental health day for Mom.
