Yes, but some how there must be a reason for the catholic church enforcing this as a religious truth. So much so, that who ever challenged this belief even in theory, risked being accused of haresy and being condemned to death. Something the church was far to comfortable with at the time.imo The Popes seemed to know mercy not.

The irony is..things havent changed much since the dark ages in regards to societiess approach to new ideas. You may not get liturally put to death but you can die a "proessional death" (as many UFOlogist have) for espousing radical ideas of the past and the future, in this era of enlightenment!

i've been watching many Asian films lately, and some are about certain dynasties or people from back then, and i wasn't sure if there were movies out about the particular subjects you mentioned in your OP or not...

No, not at all actually. Our stories were the representation of our selves.. who we were made who we are. In an era where we are nothing but soulless, godless, bodies walking in confusion, lost and unsure why I find that there are those that still study them incredibile. Few things are more important than respecting the past.

But not for a second do I see them in a litteral sense. They are what they are, stories representing peoples now lost.. cultures decimated, raped by progress. What good do we get trying to gleam a trace of fact from these tales? I simply cannot see the benefit.

I will prefer to believe we Humans cultivated ourselves, we made ourselves into what we are and were. The notion that we need divine help relates to the basic need of religion, to explain the unexplainable. When confronted "who are we, where do we come from" stories of supernatural beings are the product.. not because its true, but because man has spent eons looking for something bigger, better, more important than ourselves.. its more comforting to be dominated by fearful forces than to be left alone on this cold rock of ours.

Throughout Human history we have been far more connected than history books would allow us to believe.. to say Africans never ventured to South America, or Vikings to America, or Middle Easterners to China is absurd. Of course they did.

Human intellectual capacity has NEVER changed.. men born 4,000 years ago were just as intelligent, the storehouses of knowledge simply have not been built up yet. So the rocket scientist of the Iron Age didn't simply plow the fields.. they thought up and constructed wondrous works of architecture. The Leonardo Da Vinci's of the Iron Age didn't work as cart laborers, they thought up fantastic tales..

Throughout the Stone age, as far back as 11,000 years, we see weaponry and tools alike over vast spaces.. The reason being, "primitive" trade routes existed, and new tools were first to be traded as they were valuable. Is it improbable to assume that men marching with their goods didn't keep story tellers by their sides? Unlikely, in the Celtic World Bards knew no bounds, they traveled freely across the Celtic World sharing their stories. In each of the Celtic Domains, the stories are very much alike, but very different. Each morphs to represent the culture, and perhaps the culture adapts some of the story.

In regards to the sky, a few things are worshiped all over the world: Sky, Sun, Duality of heaven and hell(s). People who want to know how the very, very first person to call themselves (inter clans name) came to be, it's ALWAYS some fantastic story of supernatural origins and just appearing. Be it from the skies, or in some cultures like some Celts, from the Earth, or simply "other worlds" .. places that cannot be seen, and thus, cannot be challenged.

The spread of ideas, skills, weapons, items, they were far more advanced than we give them credit. How did they build the Pyramids? Well, how did we build the World Trade Centers, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Panama Canal? .. Humans are very good at overcoming seemingly impossible odds, and creating works of art that seem impossible. We don't give them credit because we believe we are intellectually superior than they, but in fact, we are not.

Generally speaking, when you make a thread, you expect some people not to agree. Um, some would say that's the sign of a good thread, discussion and debate forms around the principle ideas. If my replying but not agreeing with everything upsets you, I don't apologize. If I want to simply say "nice job" I will send a U2U.

Though, in this case, even the OP wrote me off as having nothing to say, which I cannot hide, I was a bit surprised.

C: I know it was Ben Hua because it was the same when I went back. Now this was an incident that occurred…
K: Was it a crash? Or was it a visit?
C: We saw the entities.

C: This involved us going in and to try to extract an aircraft and we did, we cut it up into, I think, about seven pieces.
K: OK. Was it one of theirs?
C: No, no, no. This was a B-52…

C: …that didn’t crash normal.
K: Was it a time travel experience?
C: Nope. This was a craft that was shot down. Everybody was killed on… everybody was dead onboard the B-52.
K: Shot down by the visitors?
C: They were on a bombing mission over…. I have no way of knowing this but I would assume they were on a bombing mission over North Vietnam. The damage to the craft was as a result of anti-aircraft fire at the B-52. I mean the damage was that type. And it was used for conventional bombing. And where I said that we went in, we went from there by helicopter. But it was just like some giant hand had grabbed the plane out of mid-air and just set it on the jungle floor. And that’s what we were interested in.
K: Oh...
C: We didn’t know, you are not told. When we got on the plane in the States to leave to go over there, we were told we were going to Florida.

C: When we landed in Oakland, we knew that we were not going to Florida. But then we went ahead and we were given a little plastic bag. You had to cut “US ARMY” off, you had to cut your name tag off. One thing you never do is take your dog tags off. We took our dog tags off. Every item that could identify you went into that plastic bag. That was held for us there at Ben Hua. That was held for us there until we came back. After the event occurred they put me in this GP… I mean a tent… There was a table there, there was a chair, there was a pad, there was I think a couple of pens but I grabbed a pencil. I was to set there and just put down my thoughts.
K: OK…
C: Anyhow, getting back to the tent, that was all that was there. I went ahead, went in and got bored, and I started to play games of tic-tac-toe. I went outside to smoke and took the paper with me, wadded it up and put it in my pocket. When they found that piece of paper – now remember, all that was on it was just little games of tic-tac-toe – immediately the guy that I always called the colonel who was always there, he came and knocked the cigar out of my mouth and started to cuss at me profusely: “What are you doing out there? Why do you have that?” “You can be shot for having that paper in your pocket.” Why? It was classified waste. You didn’t take paper in there, you took nothing in there. And everything that was in there was to stay there. So everything that I wrote was immediately put into a... into a briefcase, and was taken out of there by special courier. And even though I wrote it, I was no longer cleared to see it any more.
K: Hmm…
C: Now, did you write things sometimes that you didn’t even know you wrote? Yeah, you did. I can tell you right now that everything I read I can have a greater understanding of some of the stuff I am doing. Paul [his friend, who came with him to meet us] can tell you that I do a whole lot of stuff as far as downloading. But you know what? I don’t have to read every page... but I’ll scan every page. While I am scanning, through me they can pick up on every thing that’s there. It’s all old news to them but they find some things interesting. And they’ll find some things that are bemusing to them because we are headed in the right direction but we don’t have the right “i” dotted. And if you know anything about mathematical formulas, we will have things in reverse. But this right here sometimes scares you because you think, gee, is this a good… because you’re being driven to do this.
K: So it’s fascinating, that we don’t think of Vietnam and during the war as a time when we would also be dealing with off-world cultures.
C: You know why? They truly were told to call them helicopters. You were in a war zone, so what you do is you go in and put a little Occam’s Razor in there and you eliminate to the lowest denominator. UFOs can’t exist. Let me rephrase that. UFOs is not a good term. Interplanetary Conveyances cannot exist, so it has to be something very earthly. NSA went ahead and would call UFOs "UFOs" when we were monitoring communications with the Soviet Union. But they always qualified that in hopes that with the initiation of the Sunshine Act, later to become the Freedom of Information Act, that they would not be subject to those acts by saying seven UFOs being reported by such and such a location and site. But when they would say seven UFOs, in parentheses, they would put: probably balloons. Disregard the fact that, in the one document I am talking about, the seven UFOs were traveling at 1700 mph. Balloons can’t do that.
