Anyone ever get set up for a trafic ticket!!!

I am living in North Idaho and actually having a somewhat of a bad day already when.... I am driving to school and go to get on the freeway and as soon as I was on the on-ramp, I could see the trafic was backed up. So I see the fast lane moving faster than the slow which was about 15 to 20 mph. I get my self into the fast lane logically thinking here.

Then about 1/16 of a mile ahead was a state trooper parked on the Left side of the feeway, their lights were flashing but they were doing nothing. This was the sole cause of the trafic build up and traffic being made compacted. They were on the wrong side of the road for having previously pulled anyone else over. When I went by, their lights quit flashing and they merged with the trafic one car behind me, so there was a car between them and I.

I proceeded like a good law abiding citizen and did break no laws like speeding or wreckless driving. Then when it came time for me to merge right into the trafic the state police had made thick, I saw an opening about three car lengths span. It was the only spot at the time, so I gave a good signal about 4 seconds then merged into the right hand lane. I then proceeded to brake slightly to put space between myself and the car in front of me. The car behind did the same, of course. Nothing new here, right, well I get off on the off ramp and I get pulled over.

I ask the officer what am I being pulled over for. He said, I'll tell you I have been following you for over two miles, ( but I was breaking no law not speeding, nothing) he said that I made an unsafe lane change because the car behind you had to use his brakes when you merged (well, duh, I had to use my brakes after I merged to adjust length). They actually told me they had followed me for over two miles, but I warant no following at all. I believe this is a nasty reaction to a political letter I wrote and emailed to the white house. The only thing they could have against me is my political activity, letting them hear the truth from my mouth. I am no criminal but I am one of the Ones willing to die for my Freedom and hate what the establishment of this government has become.

Kinda makes one laugh when I stop and think, I got set up for a petty trafic ticket. This could of been quota driven but I am thinking not because they told me they were following me. If they are watching this just makes me put more of my attension to politics now. The problem is, I am young early thirties and want to study science right now not politics. I will do what I must though and if the country is in mortal danger then I must deal with that first. It just pisses me off.

Anyone else get treated like this let me know. Last fact this was a tight merge but never was anyone in any danger. Lets hear what you have to say!!!

sounds like the cop was just doing his job, it was unsafe to make a lane change if it was a "tight merge". that said, i do believe the cops get more than a little ticket happy towards the end of the month quota time...

If they would have never backed traffic up then there would have been more room. I have the right to merge you cannot force me to remain on the Interstate when I get to my exit and find a small space to merge. I had plenty of room and really caused no danger.

maybe there was a reason other than them following you because of a letter you wrote to back up traffic....perhaps something fell off a truck and they needed to make space to pick it up? perhaps an animal got hit and they needed to clean it up? maybe a wreck? and cops really dont need a reason to pull you over. ive been pulled over 40 plus times following all laws and have only recieved one ticket more than 7 years ago. i HIGHLY doubt if you were a national security threat they would have local police follow you. they would use secret service, cia, nsa ect....

It sounds like a bs reason to pull you over if all is as you described. Of course, from his vantage point it may have looked different / more dangerous. Also, I think you're being overly paranoid about his reason for tailing you. Police will often follow someone while they run plate numbers to see if you've got warrants or the car is stolen - it's happened to me numerous times.

yeah ive thought about that, I was just amped up about it. Plus I am getting pretty bold these days in my political letters. This is why I am looking closely at every thing happening. Plus the Real winds of change are blowing. These are the ones that will change theface of the Earth.

These things make me a very nervous person, and I do have mental illness but not scizophrenia. I am bipolar and hyperactive so please excuse my temporary imaginitive explanations. I know thee White House didn't do it when I thought about it for a minute. I was just excited and a little manic.

Thanks for bringing my head down from the sky. I know I am a lot eccentric and sometimes a little crazy. But I am still on the books a science genius up and coming.

I suppose the police just love to enforce the law to such a strict degree these days.

Maybe the officer reads ATS to much and thought you were an alien coming to advance disclosure and pulled you over!

ive been done plenty of times its nothing to get annoyed about in my eyes, just cops being cops

I think I was set up for a bus ticket once.
I was at the bus station and a guy came over to me and said, hey buddy, were are you going? I replied, what business is it of yours. He said, calm down buddy I sell the bus tickets, where are you going?.
Bam! Just like- that I had a bus ticket.
Didn't see it coming. Even though I needed a bus, had a large back pack and I was traveling interstate. How they set me up, I'll never know. But they were good. How did they even know I would be at the bus stop?
Even the Bus driver knew I had a ticket because he asked me to show it to him when I got on.
What a scam.
I must have counted over 30 people that got on the bus. All set up like me.

Yep! Caulk up another one to the stinking economy. It's affecting government in every aspect possible - including law enforcement. They need money too. However, this touches on public abuse by cops.

I truly despise the hell that cops put normal, law abiding citizens thru.

It's not fair, and there is nothing we can do about it. Try disputing this in court. It used to be that the cop had to come to court to say what he observed (give verbal testimony, under oath), but now the cops give depositions in writing before hand. They don't have to show up in court anymore. However, the accused has the right to contest/dispute the cops side of the story.

If you contest/dispute the deposition, then the stakes are immediately raised. Any plea bargain or lesser count is taken off the table, and you are asked to come back when the cop can attend the court session. Even then, at the new trial, unbelievably the cop has more credibility in the courts eyes, than you do. NOT FAIR AT ALL.

I live in NY and I have a Sergeant cop friend and I cringe on the stories that he tells me. He is really laughing, while I am cringing inside listening to his these crazy stories of police abuse. Seemingly, for no reason other than for the cops enjoyment.

Pathetic!!!!!!!!!!! I am embarrassed for my friend and for our NY Police.

They are never anywhere when you need them, and ALWAYS there when you don't.

I don't feel that they are there to protect us. It's more like they are they are here to have fun with us - at our expense.

Unfathomable!

BTW - In NYC there are no less than 5 cops per block. More in terrorist target areas. Do we really need 5 cops per block? Seems like a waste of my NYC tax dollars.

Yeah ive contested a speeding ticket before, and in court all that happened was the cop came in said I did it and the Judge said pay the bill. I was not given any say and they provide absolutely no proof.

The institution of a police state in America to uphold socialist laws is where I draw the line. The Declaration of Independence commands us to rise up against this tyrany and throw down a tyranous government.

I can guarantee you it has nothing to do with anything you wrote. What you did was make two mistakes.
1) You drove in front of an officer for several miles.
2) You gave him some excuse to pull you over.

Sometimes that is all it takes. Having many police officer friends, I know that there is a saying among them, “if an officer follows you for five miles they can find something to pull you over for”. It does not matter if you did nothing wrong in your opinion, the laws are just set up so that no one can drive perfectly for extended periods. You eventually do something, even if its just swerving a bit, that allows them to pull you over. When they target someone they will find an excuse to make a stop, justified or not, to show that they are on duty. That is why you really should never drive for any distance in front of an officer, as you increase the chance of making yourself such a random target just by being in their line of sight.

They claim not to have quotas, but what they do have is the same pressure that everyone else with a job has, which is to perform. This means that they must respond to so many calls, and make so many stops a day, in order to log a busy day. If they do not stay busy then they can be questioned as to what they are doing while on duty. Officers do not work in an officer under the eyes of a supervisor, yet they have superiors they answer to the same as everyone else. Basically if the system was not set up as such, you would end up with a bunch of guys showing up for row call then going fishing, playing golf, sleeping in their patrol cars, etc. for the rest of their shift.

You were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. It happens.

Actually if you had to do something unsafe in order to merge then YES you should have stayed on the interstate.

See you drivers are WAY too arogant. It's all about YOU. Not the other people who's lives you may have endangered in order to get to school on time.

As a cyclist I almost get hit EVERY DAY by cars doing something they shouldn't. I wish I lived in idaho so you could be the one to hit me and get smacked with a lawsuit from hell...

i'd chill out a bit. yea, i've been pulled over for something i thought i didn't do, but it happens to everyone.

the space you described that you merged to could be seen as an unsafe merge. and the car behind you put on their brakes because you made them. you decreased their 3 car lengths. then decreased the 3 car lengths of the guy behind them..and then the guy behind them who was fiddling with his cell phone, and bam thats how pile ups happen.

if you were planning on getting off the highway that soon, you should've stayed in the slower lanes anyways. it wouldn't of hurt you, and you probably took the same amount of time anyways because you were pulled over.

and saying it's because you sent a letter to the white house..no sir. odds are either a) they havent gotten to your little letter yet, or b) they never intended to read it. and they'd have you watched by a higher agency

You should drive in a city like Fresno, California once. 4-6 lane freeways merging with 2 other freeways, people flying 70-85 miles an hour. Merging on these raceways is FUN. Cops do not pull you over their, they wait for you to leave the freeway. If they did they could cause 100's of cars to pile.

LA is just a parking lot about 10 hours a day. God am I glad I am out of any metro area.One of the last ones I was in, was in your neck of the woods. Boise, Idaho. Last fall, construction all over, what a cluster-#.

Yes the police are on a frenzy of writing tickets. Cops are the modern day equivalent of the King's tax collectors.

I always wondered how much money our government makes on all of the under the table tax collections. Like licensing, registrations, tickets, tariffs, etc etc. I have tried to research it but it is buried in bureaucratic red tape. Almost impossible to research.

I know that their are some mutations in us too but idk its strange, their are two types of mutations. One on us where we are stronger more superhuman i guess you could say. And another which I think are possibley (dont laugh) gentic mutated clones. They are not from earth. From what I saw some beings not from earth see us as soldiers, and after some experminting they create what they see as the perfect soldiers. Theses abominations are more monster then human. During the war with men, there will be other wars one being my kind vs government, my kind and aliens possibly vs aliens, and my kind vs vamps. These are nothing compared to the true war which is quickly approaching which is my kind, humans, a few vamps, a few aliens, and whatever else lol vs demons and their followers. In other words good vs evil. Idk if I will get to see the ending, but I can assure you, almost all of us (all life)will be killed. Only god can save you so have faith in him always.
