Hey just wondering - a few things about star wars and george lucas - and lord of the rings that ive noticed. maybe they reflect reality more than we realize (altho some people on here seem to have noticed).

leia's hair do - side buns - are very reminiscent of the statue of the lady of elche in spain - said to come from atlantis - a priestess maybe.

the whole 'force' thing - using hte mind to levitate and control ojects/people - this is just like chinese qi -gong - its the same sort of idea since qi gong masters are sposed to have these amazing abilities - and also do martial arts - just like the jedi. mabe the chinese masters are part of some galactic sort of jedi thing...whether they know where it comes from or not.. maybe they do..

also how they wear hoods like druids

also the 'twins' separated at birth - there is a symbol of twins which is important in masonic lore

the death star is an artificially built planet - a lot of scientists think our moon and phobos might be artificially built satellites

chewbakka as the yetti??

(i always think the pope looks a bit like the evil emperor ha ha)

lord of the rings - set in nz with hobbits etc. funny then that there are stories there of a race of little people, and also a race of giants...and that certain people allege that the designs on maori buildings/tatoos have a celtic influence...

also the 'eye of sauron' could be like the eye of horus in egypt; or like the eye on top of the masonic pyramid...(the 'evil eye')

etc...

No real scientists think our moon is an artificially built satellite. Maybe some wacked out pseudoscientist.

What you are seiing in these stories is not some ancient knowledge, but a writer weaving common myths into his storyline.

So in reference to the jedi's mind powers.... are you seriously sugesting that the power of the mind is just a myth?

wow you must have a closed mind

I think you are kidding, right? Do you see people that are not in movies or video games running around with Jedi mind powers? If so, I would love to see it.

There isn't that much similarity between them, and who or what claims that the Lady of Elche is an "Atlantean" artifact?

Or maybe George Lucas simply borrowed from existing myths and legends about mystics and what they do, and used the existing myths as the template for the "Jedi" abilities? Naah. It couldn't be. Obviously, all those generations of Indian Fakirs and Asiatic monks were doing the whole meditation thing just to inspire a popular movie in the 1970s.

It's also a fairly common device in storytelling that has nothing to do with Masonic lore. Is there something specific about the Star Wars use of this particular device that makes you think of a masonic slant?

"A lot of scientists"? Name one, and list his credentials, if you would. I can't think of any off the top of my head who aren't hucksters selling their Great Scientific Revelation for $19.95 + S&H.

Pope Paul VI looked like Emperor Palpatine? Now, Pope Benedict bears an almost *uncanny* resemblance...but he wasn't Pope when Emperor Palpatine was introduced to the public.

Wha?
The Lord of the Rings wasn't set in New Zealand. It was set in Middle Earth. It was *filmed* in New Zealand, but that has nothing to do with Tolkien's writing. That's like saying that World War II took place in California, since a lot of war movies were filmed in Hollywood.

also the 'eye of sauron' could be like the eye of horus in egypt; or like the eye on top of the masonic pyramid...(the 'evil eye')

etc...

Or it could be just what Tolkien proclaimed it to be...nothing more, and nothing less, than a powerful tool used by an evil character in a fantasy novel. One of the hazards of looking into conspiracy theories is that it's very easy to see a conspiracy where none exists. Like the quote attributed to Freud says, "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar".
