America has alot to learn from Australia.

We define ourselves as Australian not because of our birth place (almost none of us can say that three generations ago our relatives were born here, anyway!), but because of our desire to be a part of the Australian Community. Yes, that does sound a little socialist, it's Australia FFS! Our two political parties argue not on whether or not we should have a socialist country or capitalist country, but on how MUCH control the government should have. We've been socialist for years (and it scares the heck outta me sometimes!).

Politics aside... We as Australians identify ourselves not by the colour of our skin or by the place we were born, but by our collective will to live together as a society. Australia was, is, and always will be a colony of the British Commonwealth (Illuminati corporates), and as such, we are not a real country, but a corporate 'opt in' society where everybody does their part.

The history of Australia doesn't have international wars of aggression in it like most of europe, it simply has rebellion against tyrannical government control and taxation by the british crown. Albeit, we still keep the monarch as head of state, but we've evolved to the point where she has barely any power here whatsoever.
All this recent talk of 'reclaiming the Person' and 'security of the Person' and 'sovereignty' is a load of tripe when we live in a common law jurisdiction, as you'll be better off exercising your right to control your own 'Person' ('Person' is a corporation, google it), than if you go rogue and disassociate yourself from the Person.
Our members of parliament and our representatives actually do something here, or they get lynched and put out of business.

Don't hyphenate, don't sub group, just plain old Americans.

seriously? did you just say this?? wow it may seem after all there is hope

all the afore listed idiots want to seem so distant from what? from being american, being white, being controlled? Those hyphens are what help to separate you all and blind you to whats really going on. African AMerican.. funny. I am. but Im white. As are 89 percent of all the true african americans I have met in my days. frankly., Im with you mate. I moved here to get away from an authoritarian government disguised as a democracy and NO surprisingly it wasnt the US. I moved here to be an american

Coming here you see much the same thign in the same patterns.
a group of people, regardless of colour, just happens to be the smallest one. they are almost given a steroid injection economically and have all the jobs. the majority groups sit and stir in this and blame one another while, behind the scenes, there are nasty little tricks being played, leaders killed, and others defamed... and the rest were far too blinded pointing fingers. Whites where I come from make up about 6% of the total population. needless to say we didnt complain too greatly. and we werent messed with to greatly either.
point being seeing this here having come from this there. its not difficult to surmise why so many people believe the US the "master state" is about to explode in a second civil war. the only thing preventing this is you people here are so easily side tracked and will never know who the bad guy is because of it. you wil attack one another in a huge racial war, and the very cause of your civil unrest will be watching.

"Traditional" in this case, seems to be a label that thinly veils a racist agenda. There's nothing wrong with multi-culturalism. The fear of people that are different than you is silliness. "Traditional America" needs to move into the 21sat century. Things don't stay the same. People grow and change and PROGRESS. Deal with it.

"You must assimilate"

Silliness.

Oh here we go....the racism card throw down.....can you come up with nothing else to say about a movement that is multi-racial and ethnically diverse? Which it is....however if you have been swallowing the mainstream media version then I guess you missed that part....the left is busy vilifying white people and the right is trying to co-opt them....these folks are angry and rightly so....the tax payers just gave billions of dollars to a government and private institutions with no oversight but you see nothing wrong in that????

Abortion on demand = birth control by killing the unborn in the millions but you see nothing wrong with that???

Children growing up without fathers in the millions but you see nothing wrong with that???? Oh yeah it was the dems who came up with that charming idea - create welfare but make sure the dad is out of the picture....nice way to destroy a culture, a community....many communities but your ok with that....

NO Habeus Corpus .....that was promised to be re-instated by our current administration but not delivered but you see nothing with that either I guess...

spying wholesale on American citizens - was promised to be stopped by the current administration but not delivered but yet again you see nothing wrong with that...apparently....

Rip the ten commandments out of the courtrooms and forget that our laws, our human rights in fact are based on those basic instructions....

Make sure that self esteem is taught and nurtured even at the expense of personal responsibility - never fail a child, just pass them through to the next grade level even if they can't read because their self-esteem is more important than survival in the real world... but you're ok with that too no doubt...

and thats a short list...and don't tell me about multi culturalism and racism - I come from a mixed blood family - Asian, Black and Native American, and Caucasion - and I can tell you that many of my people do not trust this government regardless of the color of the leaders....gee... go figure...

Impressive list of exactly why this country is so divided. People all want their own identity, when in all reality we should be just plain old American.

If you want to see this country really take off the way it was always supposed to, remember that your just an American, so are all the other Americans around you. Don't hyphenate, don't sub group, just plain old Americans.

Different ideas are good, segregation based on a hyphen is bad.

Yes, imagine, people wanting their own identity, rather than boiling themselves down into some amorphous ill-defined thing that lines up with whatever it is you happen to consider "plain old American"

Another thing to consider... that's exactly what America is about. The popular term is "melting pot" - which some people would rather be a bleach bucket. I am not you. You are not me. Though we are both Americans, we have differences in culture, opinions, religion, tastes, speech, and ancestry. We're a nation of mongrels, stowaways, runaways, exiles, pilgrims, criminals, dreamers, and scammers, with our only common binding tie being that we are all Americans. As it turns out, even with all our differences, that's a pretty strong tie.

Our variery is our strength, a constant flux of ideas expressed in new words always bubbling up to the surface of our "culture" - American culture is so duynamic that it is hard to actually call it a culture. So many minds from so many places and so many outlooks contribute to all of us and make the nation stronger as a result.

Historically, those who've sought to do away with this variety, the hybrid vigor of the United States, have always been the main source of our problems.

If you want to see the nation take off like it's supposed to, stop squeezing your crotch and moaning about how terrible it is that other people want to call themselves something, and focus on your own stuff.

...You don't actually know the ten commandments, do you? Or the biblical punishments for breaking them, I'll bet.

We have exactly three laws from the ten commandments in the legal codes of the US - Don't murder, don't steal, don't commit perjury. oddly enough Buddhists have these laws, as did the quite pagan Lakota and the pre-Judaic Mesopotamian peoples. They're pretty much universal in all human societies, so the ten commandments can't really take credit there.

As for human rights... if you worship a god other than the one in the bible, you're to be stoned to death. If you disrespect your parents... you're to be stoned to death. If commit adultery, you and the person you're sleeping with are to be killed (and if she's a preacher's daughter, she's specifically killed by burning her to death). I notice that you have a picture of a person in your avatar. Biblically, you and whoever took that picture would be flogged for making an image of something on earth. Ever worked on a saturday? Death. Ever taken God's name in vain? Death, again.

Our laws are in fact based on english common law, itself descended from Saxon tribal law. And as it turns out, a bunch of Wotan-worshipping barbarians from the woods were better at this "human rights" thing than the guys from the near east. Go figure.

Yes actually I do and if you had read any history of the Jewish people or the mishnas or any of the many commentaries or bothered to put anything in its proper historical context you would know that the traditional punishments that you thoughtfully but ignorantly refer to were almost never practiced just as today the death penalty is reserved for only the most heinous offenders of the public good... nice try...but zero on your final exam

And sorry but Saxons and their European counterparts were still practicing human sacrifice when Abraham walked out of Ur and followed his G-d...so spare us your poor attempt at revisionism...

However its telling that you could not address the other isseus I raised - truth is a biatch innit?

Very true, my friend! (nrky, it's SO good to "see" you!!! Big hugs!)

As whatyoukno said, all these hyphenations just divide us! And "Traditional American" is the SAME THING! It is an attempt to divide "traditional Americans" from "progressive Americans". And I refuse to let it be successful!

We are ALL Americans! And I don't buy this attempt, by Pat Buchanan or the OP or the others who WANT this division, to separate us and cause feelings of "differentness". It's the same old crap of divisiveness, just a different label.

why is it when ever a white person.. typically a white male, in this country, the US.. makes a single move to speak his or her mind it is retualistically debated, torn apart, and religiously deemed part of the "racist agenda"?
WHy is it in the US you have asian college funds, hispanic college funds united negro college funds, but there is no known whitey college fund? I want a serious answer, and not one of these bullocks whites did this and dont deserve that #e either. reparations and hand outs are given out every day, and still whites are racist... programmes including only minority races still whites are the devils. you have a black president. let me guess. he isnt black enough. he's a token minority president? or better yet, the tuskeegee pres? seriously get over it. hand outs are given to minorities in the US more than anywhere else. you have nothing to complain about. If the US is so bad.. I invite anyone to return to africa with me. I will even give you a tour of my home country, Botswana free of charge, or we can take a trip to mexico city, or tokyo, sri lanka, london, where ever. and see just how bad you have it in the US/

Sadly, anybody that is traditional is going to be taken down first by the new world order. If manipulation doesn't work to make them comply, vaccines and pharmaceuticals will be the main culprits. Slow death through pills and poisons! Be prepared to go on a long camping trip or be taken down by the powers that be. Buy some 35% food grade peroxide and keep yourself healthy and immune to EVERYTHING. Ignorance will get you killed by your own government. This isn't Kansas anymore....

That's a gross exaggeration. Simply not true. If what someone says is accused of being racist, it might be that it is. You're making "white men" a victim in the USA is a complete joke.

WHy is it in the US you have asian college funds, hispanic college funds united negro college funds, but there is no known whitey college fund?

Just because YOU don't know about it, that doesn't mean there is "no known" white college fund. Google "White persons College Fund".

you have nothing to complain about.

It's not up to me to define what is plain old American. That is the beauty of living in the great melting pot. What I am saying is that these false and misleading hyphenates are in fact segregating the population.

No one group defines a culture, especially in the US you just can't. But if we dropped the hyphenates it would go a long way to make everyone at least feel a part of the greatest experiment in human history.

What are you talking about, BH? Of course it'll be successful, it's already working. The "traditional americans" will never ever want to join the traditional americans. They rather the country die with them than doing so (maybe, since they seem so adamant about it). You can't force them to change, and they don't want to.

There are two americans according to them, and if you're not with them, you're against them. I'll be interested if you think there's a solution to this.

If someone thinks Barack is a divider, somebody might use that to justify his assassination.

Hmmm... Where have I heard that before? Oh, yes, from some of the most polarizing characters in history! Jesus Christ, Lenin, Mussolini, Hillary Clinton and George W Bush, to name a few.

Of course, you're right, Jazzyguy. It is successful and has been for many years. This is the stuff of civil wars. Division, hatred and fear. I don't know what I was thinking! I guess maybe I thought we might learn from our past, but willful ignorance is stronger than any memory we have or lessons we may have learned.

Thanks a lot for crushing my rose-colored glasses... and I JUST had that rainbow painted on them!

I don't think all bigotry will ever end. It's as old as human nature itself. But if there is a "solution" it is a combination of time, education and legal protection. With education, the group of instigators will become smaller. With time, many of them will die off. Young people are smarter then they are given credit for. They don't buy these archaic ways of thinking. And my hope is that as this happens, more legal protection will come into play for the victims of bigotry of all kinds.

And then I won't need my glasses!

You think Jesus Christ is the stuff of hatred, division and fear?

If that's true, then you are immensely ignorant of Jesus Christ and his message because you don't know what he really stands for - only what the extremists say he stands for.

Sounds like to me you are the one being fearful this time, BH.

I don't know where you got that I'm being fearful. Unless you made it up. Because I didn't say or insinuate anything of the sort.

Sorry oldtimer but the simple fact that i can actually whistle at a white women, use the same fountain as everyone else and i don't have to worry about getting lynched because of my skin color, i call that progress...no matter you opinion.

And my opinion was helped due to in part of when i personally interviewed my grandmother that grew up in the segregated south picking cotton by hand and then see moved to New York...around 1950s.

She saw both the north and south BEFORE desegregation and if she says things are better then i believe her. There are predominately black neighborhoods that are well and fine, i think you need to open your owns and really look i know because i've been in them.

You wouldn't even know it's a black neighborhood until everyone came outside.

I mean REALLY ask, really look. He has, I have. Look and see the filth, hunger, violence, abuse.. really look.

That's prevalent EVERYWHERE where you have people living in poverty.

the point is these are the true Traditional Americans in my opinion, its actually just each and everyone of us.
I dont care about the emotion that the article lit up and how it was slanted to be a color issue, another division seed ready for the fertile soil of hatred and the rain of prejudice to bring it to its sick twisted life.

Dont fall for that, really dont fall for it anymore.
It works, it works way to well and honestly I think, no, I know were better than that, as a whole were better than what weve allowed, (yes we allowed this) to happen.

It would be nice, it would be wonderful, if before people commented on what I wrote, that they actually read it, and understood it,

and Not write replies basically citing as a retort the EXACT same message that I am saying, in the first place!

And seriously guess what, you DO have a heritage, roots, an ancestry, you DO have religious beliefs and you ARE a skin color, and you may be old or democrat or conservative..... you most definitely ARE a group of many things BUT YES OVER ALL "IF" you are a citizen of
THE UNITED STATES of AMERICA
you ARE a TRADITIONAL AMERICAN
(yes even if youre progressive)
YOU ARE MANY THINGS BUT UNITED(suppose to be) BY BEING AMERICAN.

I"M NOT GREY and my beliefs are NOT ALL ENCOMPASSING, I AM "NOT" an ambiguity.

There should be a thread titled "Have you seen me" with an American Flag on a milk carton............
