Hi Zaiger,
I was under the impression that AK is here as Abductee Chick, I could be wrong though.

No not from the camera from a hand held laser on the ground.

The laser can be seen @0:18 on the ground in front of the tree hitting the trunk and can be seen going up the tree from the ground up than disappears in the tree and doesn't rise above it.

The Laser is than Graphically reversed to be attached to the chopper/light .

I don't understand why you say the lens being aft of the strobe would whitewash any photo opportunities. How do you know that's not what we are seeing?

Actually Spiritwarrior, I did some research and you in fact identified the cause of the line (misidentified as a laser beam), it's the whitewashing as you called it, or as the technical experts refer to it, it's called CCD Saturation and Blooming. Here's a technical article explaining it:

I don't know how they are called in english, but in portuguese they are called "scratch's".

Thanks Tifozi, that inspired me to research it, so now we know what it's called in English, too.

A few tell tale signs of a hoax:

1) Spooky ominous music edited into the video by camera person or friend with intent to dramatize the event.

2) New videos being uploaded daily/weekly for prolonged periods of time.

3) Vigorous/excessive Legal warnings over the sharing/distribution of disputed 'UFO' video.

4) Substantial and/or outright claims that what is being filmed is in fact 'alien', as opposed to 'unknown' or unidentified.

This youtube user fits all four of the above criteria.

...just food for thought folks.

This camera has an automatic exposure control. When it gets a bright light source it tries to reduce the image brightness to compensate. So when the flashing from the aircraft occurs, the brightness from the flashing would make a "laser beam" appear to get dimmer. The streak on this video does exactly the opposite, that's how you can be sure it's not a beam of any kind, but a CCD artifact instead.

If that isn't enough for you, I did a little digging on Alison Kruse, the 'camera operator' and youtube channel owner and found her LinkedIn profile. What a coincidence. She just happens to be self employed in computer graphics animation. Have a blast guys, I'm out...

www.linkedin.com...

Network Engineer/Graphics & Animation Alison Kruse (Self-employed) (Self-Employed; Myself Only; Computer Networking industry) January 1989 — January 1998 (9 years 1 month) 1989 - Graphics & animation using Commodore Amiga 2000 and Video Toaster with Lightwave 3D. Designed and built computer workstations and installed all versions of Novell Networks, NT and legal software for law firms. Installed computer labs in several Pittsburgh area school districts.

FYI: All her youtube comments are set 'pending approval', which means if u call her out, she doesnt have to post the comment.

This has nothing to do with automatic exposure control or a CCD artifact.

This video has been set up and manipulated if you watch the video again you will see movement in the bushs even, just before the beam goes up and as NightVision stated above:

After reading your post, I rewatched the video looking for movement in the bushes you referenced. I didn't see that but i did notice something I didn't notice before. When the line appears there is something out of focus in the foreground. So you could be right about it not being a CCD effect, it could be something that looks similar but has a different cause, called a "diffraction spike"

Diffraction spike
They are an optical aberration caused by light diffracting around the support vanes of the secondary mirror.

So instead of out of focus support vanes for the secondary mirror, we have something else out of focus causing the diffraction, but it's a similar effect.

While a ground source for a beam would at least explain why it's in front of the tree, it doesn't explain the way the intensity varies with the aircraft light, and it especially doesn't explain how the ground source seems to move at the same speed as the aircraft, so it's not coming from the ground as you suggested earlier.

I'm not sure what you are proposing now, are you now saying you think the cause of the line is CGI? I can't rule out CGI but I can rule out a light source on the ground.

First of all, I want to say Hello to everyone. Been reading on ATS for a few days and decided to join yeaterday.

I have been watching these videos as well, and I gotta say that this woman is...different. I honestly don't think she has manipulated the actual footage in any way. She is so convinced she is right, that she is now blinded to the obvious.

The laser thing? I would hazard a guess it could even be simple condensation on either the night vision lens, or the camera lens. I checked the video during the "laser" show and noticed the halo effect around the strobe light. I have done a little bit of backyard astronomy in the past, and condensation was always a problem on cool nights, causing stars to produce this same halo instead of being nice and sharp. At one point in the video she makes a point of saying she had to return to the car because it was cold. I'm wondering if she brought the camera from inside a warm car and as it cooled, got a wee bit of steam on the lens (anyone with glasses can relate). Not saying that this IS the case, just one of many possiblities.

As for the "smoke" she sees from the "laser" passing through the trees: The smoke is alot closer to the camera than that tree. Notice how quick it moves and the tufts of smoke are too large to be that far away. Looks like possible exhaust from her car drifting in front of the camera (she mentions that the noise heard on the video is her car running).

I wouldn't put alot of faith in those credentials of hers either. There is nothing listed that is verifiable. No companies worked for, no universities attended. It is all very general. This woman loves to "hear herself talk" or in this case, type. I have read most of her posts on youtube (and other sites she is posting on) and have noticed that she LOVES to tell people how much she knows and they don't and if they don't agree with her, they are immediately labeled idiots.

So to sum up:
The objects are most likely planes (and perhaps a Heli in the laser vid) and this woman is a loon.

Welcome aboard Vienna1399,That is a very cool observation
This is the sort of observation I'll read.

Not because the video handler says its a UFO!

I really hope this woman is not being taken too seriously. looks bad for all of the sightings that are actually questionable.

I agree the lady is a loon. I have been watching her channel for sometime and if anyone disagrees with her in the least little bit she goes off and starts calling them names. I saw the video the day she posted and my instant impression was that someone was standing behind the tree with a green laser pointer. It seems to be going from the ground up and not viceversa.

I have one of the laser pointers that I bought from Office Depot for $40 some dollars. It is suppose to be the strongest you can buy legally. Unlike other laser pointers you can see the beam with the naked eye.

The only problem I have with the laser pointer theory is the timing. It would take someone on the ground with impecable timing to match the strobe of the lights. Perfectly.

Still leaning towards natural artifacts of the lens.

Welcome to ATS and compliments on a great first post! You've obviously researched the videographer more than I have so your input is welcome!

Regarding post editing, if you're having the same problem as I was, the secret is to ONLY use the "preview" function on "new" posts, and NEVER use the "preview" function on editing your posts because it will wipe out all your changes.

So just click "edit post" without clicking "preview post" first, and the edit will stick.

Yeah I went back and watched it again and I see what you are saying. I think it is possible, but improbable. I just don't know what to think of her videos, some are a little hard to explain. Several people have asked her if they could come see for themselves and the best to my knowledge that has not happened yet.

I know one thing when I do watch her videos, I have to turn the volume down. Her comentary drives me crazy!

Like I said, my condensation theory is one of many possible explanations. But would a race of aliens capable of "morphing" their ships to match our own in order to blend in, not realise they could simply turn their lights off and remain much more hidden?

I just think the whole idea of "transforming craft to match ours" a bit ridiculous.

Someone will eventually get the proof we are looking for...but not this clown.

Yeah she really shows her immaturity in her posts. I mean if they were real why would she care what people think and get so defencive. IMO, only somebody that is blatantly lying to people would get that way.
