What a lot of people do not know about Australians is that they are right there in their lives.

They are grounded, which a lot of people are not.

Aussies just carry on with their lives without worrying too much, and they do not get into bull#.

The thing about Aussies is they are down to the ground and I love them, as a kiwi.

Call on an Oz, they will always be there, no matter what.

And why am I posting this here? Always trust an Oz to tell the truth.

What the hell is the above supposed to mean? As an American who spent some time working in Aus I found Australians pretty good people.

Yes they don't like bull# and they are opposed to political correctness - BUT it is pushed by the media, feminists, academics and other elites in a very big way.

The saddest thing I experienced in Aus was the Aborigines drifting mostly, getting way too much welfare and spending it then needing more and more. The Aus government's created positions for Aboriginal people in the public employment area but it seems to be very nepotistic.

Their problems are like those experienced by the Native American community but they don't have casinos to generate wealth for at least some people. They have given away their land to mining companies and many tribes got wealth from there but many communities have huge problems of addiction and abuse of minors.

But why is the op's post in the General Conspiracies forum? What conspiracy?

And we still have a sense of humor! I love the fact that the majority of our fun is based on taking the piss

i think the aussies are loud mouthed crude beer swilling animals.

and i love em for that.

you see they havent lost their britishness .. the ability not to be cowed into submitting to political correctness like the brits themselves have.

thats why i help out running a mainly aussie frequented sports forum. .. the banter is good as anyone who has spent several years getting to know a crowd of aussies can imagine.

i can now even speak australian along with all the other dishlickers over there. .. the women are funny .. really funny.

Gold! I love the Chasers, they say how it is.

Have you caught that new show on ABC? The Hungry Beast?

hungrybeast.abc.net.au...

Another good show that doesn't pull it's punches (just not as funny as the Chasers)

Another Chasers classic:

What I mean is that the Australian mindset is the best way to live.

Yes, the abuse of Aborigines was/is appalling.

Yes, the abuse of everyone and everything in this world is appalling.

All I am saying is that Australians are brilliant - they are so funny, they are so kind, and btw, it is governments who did that to the aborigines and everyone else.

Nothing wrong with being proud of where you are from, so long as that courtesy is extended to others from the aussies. It's a two way street ain't it mate? I have had some flak from aussies when I tell my pride from where I am from.

I will reserve further comment on a wait and see basis.

Hehe...

A slab is a 12-pack and a carton has between 24 and 36 bottles (depending on their size).

But I can't beat Chadwickus' offer of a pissup at the brewery. I've actually done that - at McWilliams Wines in Griffith. I was there on business and ended up getting roaringly drunk with the Master Wine Maker on unfinished red wine.....ahhh the memories......

OK, I spent this thread saying how great Australians are, which they are, and all I have is useless crap from you stupid idiots.

Is that what you want people to think about your country?

They already think your country is crap, now you are confirming it.

What you're actually seeing here is a great example of Aussie competitiveness, good natured humour and the ability to take the piss out of ourselves and have a laugh about it in the process ... all part of the Aussie spirit and who we are !
